I Am Curious (Yellow)

Lena, aged twenty, wants to know all she can about life and reality. She collects information on everyone and everything, storing her findings in an enormous archive. She experiments with relationships, political activism, and meditation. Meanwhile, the actors, director and crew are shown in a humorous parallel plot about the making of the film and their reactions to the story and each other. Nudity, explicit sex, and controversial politics kept this film from being shown in the US while its seizure by Customs was appealed.

Jeff J (es) wrote: It is a so-so movie. I mean, I liked it, but not really inclined to watch it a 2nd time or something.

Sam B (br) wrote: I'm free to say that "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" was just okay. It had compelling moments, but it's basically just an action movie based on one hero, like "Jack Reacher".

Sanjid P (us) wrote: A brutal little film about 2 actresses sharing a flat but competing for the same role in a movie. One night their rivalry turns into a deadly cat fight with a sad & harrowing consequence.

Chris J (jp) wrote: So disturbing and yet, so intriguing.

Gary M (kr) wrote: good action. good fighting.

NandK J (it) wrote: I think this was a Canadian film...one of the few ones I've liked

Mark S (fr) wrote: Before Chris Evans played superheroes, he starred in this pastiche of the teen comedy genre. Parts of Not Another Teen Movie are quite funny, but a lot of the vulgar humor misses the mark. References to the classic John Hughes movies seem totally inappropriate, since his movies were distinctly smarter and free of the crassness that embodies this parody.

William S (au) wrote: Campy, very hokey, cliche-ridden and soooo much fun as it'stotally aware of it's limitations and sends itself up wonderfuly. It's also a perfect example of it's type. The cast is the best it can be (outside of a Rathbone/Flynn pairing). Laird Cregar, looking even more enormous than usual in a series of outrageous costumes and massive wigs, smacks his chops marvelously as does a completely unrecognisable George Sanders in a ginger wig and beard. And the chemistry between Power and O'Hara is refreshingly sparky as they take it in turns to smack each other about - until (inevitably!) falling for each other's charms. Great stuff!Power is easily the equal of Flynnn when it comes to buckling his swash and, to be perfectly frank, neither are much to get excited about when it comes to screen acting but Power has the edge for me in the shirtless stakes - especially stretched out on the rack!

Paul H (au) wrote: Quite simply the greatest film of all time. Saved my life, and will never leave me.

Tatsuhito K (au) wrote: What a movie! A great mix of road trip film and screwball comedy drama. Only David O. Russell can come up with and pull off such things. It's hilarious, energetic, and quite heartwarming, I loved Mr. Russell's direction and his writing (as always), loved the characters and the performances, and loved the unpredictable story. Russell breaks all kinds of comedy cliches in Flirting With Disaster. The result is a total blast. Loved it!

Jason D (ru) wrote: don't you dare watch if you like things that come anywhere close to cohesion or a plot. what this is does not constitute a story. it is a one-note painting of soviet propaganda. this film is filled with moments of sheer genius (the excellent use of silhouettes and parallel juxtaposition comes to mind) and moments of sheer incompetence, and many of them are congruent. for example, in ninety percent of closeups the actor stands still, and some of these are in dialogue. there is dialogue for horses at two points. and these are not near the maximum when it comes to the departure from the literal or the realistic. this film represents a zenith of montage-based abstraction.
