Jasrick J (br) wrote: An entertaining tale, the story begins with Sid (farhan) and Trisha (vidya) who are happily married and now they become proud parents too. While Trisha gives up her job and focuses on her baby, Sid begins to have tough time trying to strike a balance between his job and his role as a father. For this, he ends up taking the advice from Trisha??s brother-in-law (ram kapoor). How things go from there forms the rest. The director has come up with a romantic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. In terms of performance, Farhan Akhtar was versatile and natural, he did well. Vidya is a realistic performer and she has given an involved performance. Ram Kapoor was fabulous. Gauthami was gorgeous, Vir Das was effective, Ira Arun was impressive, Purab Kohli was apt.The film comes across as a sequel to the movie Pyar Ke Side Effects but of course with a different cast. As the title indicates, it deals with life after marriage and especially after a kid is born. The first half goes about with lighter elements of comedy and romance while the interval bang was interesting. The second half is more towards sentiment but it is also dealt in a lighter vein. Overall, this is a film which offers not only entertainment but a sensible message to new parents. A worth watching flick.

Frank P (us) wrote: Straight from the professional school of natural performances and static camera placements (hear that, Akerman and Oliveira?) There is definitely a lot going on in this film. Most notably, it features one of the best depictions of young, innocent love in recent cinema (but why, why, don't they get the same explicit sex we get to see in... uh, another couple?) Everyone acts so naturally, even though there's something intertexual going on. No one is obliged to affect a particular state of mind or personify some kind of societal sickness. Political commentary has never been merged so seamlessly with character insight - to the extent that the film works perfectly even without reading its subtle metaphors and allusions.

Stuart K (es) wrote: After the nightmare of making Apocalypse Now (1979), Francis Ford Coppola wanted to make a small, personal film. He wanted to do a low-budget romance for $2 million in his new Zoetrope Studios in Hollywood. But, it soon became another nightmare, costing $25 million and bankrupting Coppola in the process. Shame really, as it's not as bad as what people at the time made out. Set in Las Vegas around the 4th of July, long-time couple Hank (Frederic Forrest) and Frannie (Teri Garr) are celebrating their 5 year anniversary together, but due to Hank being indifferent to Frannie wanting to go off on an adventure, they split up, and each spend a night with their ideal partners. Frannie goes off with a mysterious Latino musician called Ray (Raul Julia), while Hank goes off with beautiful circus girl Leila (Nastassja Kinski). However, Hank feels guilty about what he's doing and tries to win Frannie back, but she's absolutely in love with Ray, and they're planning to elope to Bora Bora together. But, can Hank stop Frannie from making a hasty decision so soon?? Much publicised, but it was strangled at birth due to bad word of mouth and Coppola spending too much money on his "Electric Cinema", which consisted of him directing much of the film from a silverfish trailer outside the soundstages. It looks beautiful, and it does have an old school theatrical feel to it, as well as the staging of an old Hollywood musical, with songs by Tom Waits, sung by him and Crystal Gayle. But, it lacks the one thing it's title suggests, heart, and the story is half-baked too.

One of the better Japanese Monster Movies of the 60s all you need to know about this one is. "Its the one with the 3 headed Dragon from Space."

Ashley H (gb) wrote: Grosse Pointe Blank is a fantastic film. It is about Martin Blank who is a professional assassin. John Cusack and Minnie Driver give amazing performances. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. George Armitage did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the action. Grosse Pointe Blank is a must see.
