Armed with nothing more than twigs, their imaginations and a simple set of rules, a group of 12-year-olds engaged in a lively game of Capture the Flag in the neighborhood woods start dangerously blurring the lines between make-believe and reality. Paint-filled balloons = Grenades. Trees = Control towers. Sticks = Sub-machine guns. The youthful innocence of the game gradually takes on a different tone as the quest for victory pushes the boundaries of friendship. The would-be warriors get a searing glimpse of humanity's dark side as their combat scenario takes them beyond the rules of the game and into an adventure where fantasy combat clashes with the real world. . Dorianator F (kr) wrote: Very funny movie. I loved it and it was very relatable. It was a bit predictable and I stopped paying attention towards the end, but it was a very memorable movie. Fantastic acting, great humor, great direction. I enjoyed it
Aj V (kr) wrote: Yes, the story sounds interesting and the cast has some very famous people, but by the middle of the movie it gets incredibly boring and predictable, and it's slow too. I didn't like it, but it wasn't all bad either.
Rene W (ag) wrote: This movie was incredibly long, but I enjoyed it a bit more than "Divorce Italian Style" just because the social interaction was not as uncomfortable. All-in-all, I thought this was an amusing film.
James H (br) wrote: Very dated cult film about the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. It's largest downfall is the horribly stiff acting. It does remain interesting because of it's view of the problem at the time.
Shaun W (es) wrote: Slow and relatively un-interesting The most I can say is it attempts to grasp at the deeper themes of the exorcist, an admirable goal sadly not achieved.
Brendan N (it) wrote: Just caught this again and I still find this film a strong mix of high concept and horror. The team behind some of the great X Files episodes and a bizarre entire second season of Millennium keep the momentum moving. Sure it gets bogged down story but the twists and shocks keep coming right until the end. At a time when slasher films were coming back in the droves, this upset the balance and with 5 films you can see this delivered to the fans. I increased this by half a star because it is still a cool film that deserves the following it has. Number 5 really sealed the series but I think this series could continue on.
Jimmie H (br) wrote: This was fun to watch. It doesn't ask a lot from the audience, except to sit back and enjoy the wackiness, action and fun gags. Burt Reynolds is tremendous as the aging stuntman. Jan-Michael Vincent does well as the cocky young stuntman. Sally Field is great as the scared girlfriend of Reynolds. And James Best puts in a fun pre-Rosco P. Coltrane from the Dukes of Hazzard performance. And Robert Klein is absolutely perfect as the director that doesn't care about te safety of his stuntmen, and only getting the picture he wants. A fun movie that allows you to sit back and enjoy yourself without having to put to much thought into it.
Kathy P (kr) wrote: My friend brought over the DVD for me to watch. What a disappointment, what a bore, nowhere near as good as the show I saw in Las Vegas. The story line moves way too slow and no enough music, little clips of music here and there. Waste of my time
Jake A (ru) wrote: The performances are solid and there are some individual scenes that work for me but on the whole it just doesn't. I know pretty much none of the characters are supposed to be likable but combined with a jumbled narrative and an unsatisfying ending it just leaves me feeling as hollow as the people it portrays.
