Connor O (es) wrote: "ashens and the quest for the gamechild" is a rather entertaining film following the story of the youtuber Stuart Ashens. I personally recommend watching his youtube show to get all the inside jokes before actually watching, although the visuals, acting, and basic jokes should be enough to keep you in your seat. So what makes the film enjoyable? Well the acting, story, cinematography, and jokes are very entertaining. Although If silly british humor isn't your thing, this movie is probably not your thing. The basic story line is that Ashens is this "collector of rare but useless tat" (tat is cheap items from kids toys to iphone nock-offs, etc.) And he has a beautiful collection of this stuff already, although he is not yet in possession of the Game Child (an awful/cheap version of nintendo's gameboy) and will go through any type of force to get it. In the film he partners up with Jeff Excellence (making fun of chef excellence, but you wouldn't know about him without watching the online ashens show...) They both go through the quest for the gamechild, meet many faces along the way, and ultimately ends up to be and hour and 28 minutes well spent. Ashens and the quest for the gamechild is free on youtube on the multiverse channel and will be on dvd and blu ray on the july 14th.

Caitlin N (ca) wrote: It was kind of disappointing that this movie wasn't good. David Tennant is one of my favourite actors and I hoping that this movie was going to good... but it wasn't. :(

A teacher has to decide what it means to pass a football diva... a girl decides who to live with after discovering she is heavy with child.... two boys lose their mother who is depressed and later lose a stranger women who dies old in her apartment above a barber shop. This has the makings of a truely wonderful and Emmy winning film. But it did not make it, apparently. No one pushed for it. But we can watch it and delight in the experience of being informed about it.

Frances H (it) wrote: I loved this quirky comedy romance with a terrific cast, especially Christopher Walden as the "fun" funeral director! Just a charming chuckle filled film!

Alan L (ag) wrote: Just a bad movie. Almost so bad that it's fun again - but only almost. Each half a star goes to: the great german DVD cover, some (very few) really nice scenes, one for the awful (yet perfectly fitting) trash electro soundtrack. And one more, simply because I love Troma.2 Stars in total, much more than this botch really deserves :)

Janetta B (ca) wrote: This is one of the funniest movies.....Bette Midler is a talented actress, who plays the "taming of the shrew" to a hilt..

Darryl C (au) wrote: great documentary featuring great performances by kim weston, rufus thomas, the staples, carla thomas and isaac hayes to name a few. plus there is a stinging commentary of the times provided by actors like richard pryor and ted lange. i wish more people would watch this to get another side of the 1960s and 1970s--not the just the 'woodstock' side!
