(ag) wrote: I'm a bit stunned by the negative reviews. For those of us who haven't been lucky enough to see the Cirque in person, this is great. I don't expect a 'coherent' story line. I just expect to be stunned by magnificent acrobatics and spectacle. It delivers.
(nl) wrote: i liked everything, but the story leading up to the ending could have been better put together. the girl they left behind didn't really feel all that intense of an issue

(jp) wrote: Aesthetically directed. Technically astonishing and totally fucking amoral piece of work. A masterpiece of transgressive cinema. Gaspar No is certainly one of the few directors that can make a movie about incest, murder and hatred look that great. Nihilism art at its best !!

(au) wrote: Lolo is a movie made up of wild mood swings, huge leaps in logic, and a very loose vision of reality. But somehow it never collapses under the weight of its ideas, and it is a masterpiece. The filmmaking is breathtakingly beautiful, and the movie is funny, tragic and very human. I had never heard of this movie until I saw it on Ebert's list (it is also on Time's Top 100), and I am very grateful that Roger introduced me to it.

(br) wrote: Crisply animated and emotionally involved in a beautiful atmosphere almost with a mind of its own, along with a very light story that represents a breather in today's frenetic movie world, this not only ranks the top of my Studio Ghibli list, but it's one of the most top-notch (and underrated) kids' movies ever.
(br) wrote: the first time I watched this in IMAX had some very annoying circumstances that have to do with saving seats for moronic friends that show up 40 minutes late and getting in a fight with other people trying to take their spot in the middle of the movie. I was annoyed for half the movie.I liked and hated this movie. I liked most of the stuff to do with the transformers and I hated everything that had to do with the humans. EVERYTHING. The whole cast was terrible. lots of bad acting and horrible dialogue. and it was barely funny when it tried to be. made me realize how great Shia and John torturo were in the last 3.michael bay went a little overboard with pushing the limits of disbelief. lots of parts where you say there is no way they would ever survive something like that. some of the action scenes were phenomenal but some of them were a little confusing and hard to follow. a lot of the stuff in the movie seem to try to mimic what they did in the third one. Definitely a lot of questionable parts but whatever. a lot of corny and cheesy partsSPOILERSThe dinobots were amazing tho and the new human made transformers were pretty cool. (3 viewings)
