Mike H (it) wrote: 6/10, surprised this was shown given the politics. Watch the heroically portrayed Afghan Taliban warriors - at the time known as the Mujahideen - fight alongside Rambo against the evil Russian army complete with ludicrous Deus Et Machina ending!

At the time this must have been how every British villager must have felt and willing to fight off the invaders. It is a great piece of wartime propaganda and today stands as a moment in time as to how an entire nation felt under the threat of war and imminent invasion

Roy A (it) wrote: Interesting movie, see Robert De Niro play a totally different character than what you're used to. Seeing Uma Thurman in one of her first roles. I like this movie, It has a bunch of great actors and a lot of recognizable faces in this. Not your usual comedy flick an unique picture and storyline. The love scene in this was realistic, and very well acted. There is so much more for this picture which in my opinion is very under rated.

RJohn X (es) wrote: this movie is great because there are so many PEW PEW PEW laser beams. Plus whenever anyone, and I mean anyone, gets blasted there is a full blown sparky explosion that bursts out of them. Fantastic. I mean that is when they are not just turned into a green outline or disappear or simply fall over without any sort of sfx. Munroe is amazingly gorgeous, throughout this picture. But has very little to do once the "love" interest Hasslehoff shows up. Plus she starts dressing in a bit more clothing. Boo. Weird hodge podge of a story ripped from the 1950s serial world of Flash Gordon - where the episodic pacing and scene chewing Joe Spinell who yells things like KILL THEM as he frantically points and waves. There is a magic magician who can see into the future, make waves in his hands, and has other powers played by the flat faced ex child preacher Marjoe Gortner! Christopher Plummer stares dead ahead as he recites some of the most painful and idiotic dialogue ever. Plus there is a HUGE plot hole when the bad guy orders the planet weapon he just BLEW UP deployed against the people he thought he just killed, but blowing up his weapon planet. Oh and huge spoiler - the good guys secret weapon is plowing a space city into the bad guys a'la STAR CRASH. Dumb.

Hes he now an expert or is he still learning.I felt like all of the actors were forcing there lines and things just happened for happening sake to move the script on to the good bits. It felt rushed, "ok lets have the uncle ben scene and theft scene" none of it seemed to gel together. the lizard is basically another green goblin character but not executed as well, and looks more like the koopas in mario from the bob hoskins flick. Constantly questioned why the characters were doing the things they were doing.Never really connected with any of it, the police sergeant seemed the most solid of the characters.
