Unfortunately, the last ten minutes might make you want to yell obscenities over the stupidity of one character. Our story: A Dutch woman goes missing at a gas station in France and her husband tries to find her. Good premise, though it feels more like the kidnapper of the film is the lead as opposed to the husband. The film spends a lot of time focusing on the kidnapper, his methods of preparation, a few misfires before he gets lucky and manages to abduct the Dutch woman. These scenes are downright chilling to watch. The guy is so calm and meticulous in his planning. For the most part, the husband searching for his wife does a good job. His grief feels natural. His obsession over losing one partner causes him to drive away a second partner. Unfortunately, he gets one decision at the end that makes the cannon fodder in most horror movies look like Stephen Hawking compared to him. Going into too much detail on this would spoil the movie, however. It's a good thriller. It really is, but how our lead could make such an incredibly idiotic decision in the last ten minutes given everything he's learned up to this point is a little irritating.
