Kevin C (jp) wrote: Typical US High school, coming of age fare that raises itself above the pack by two strong performances from Kilmer and Roberts. Kilmer in particular has teen anguish writ large on his face. Kinda worrying that Franco penned this creepy tale though.

Jonny P (ca) wrote: "A Borrowed Life" is an interesting story but very much has the feel of a made-for-tv movie. It all seems very low-budget and the acting is sometimes a bit overdramatic. ...And upon further investigation, this IS a Lifetime Original Movie. When your movie features Robert Carradine (the father from Lizzy McGuire), you know that something is up. It definitely isn't as bad as what typically comes to mind when I think of the "Lifetime" brand but it just can't compete with "real" movies. The film strikes an interesting dynamic as the main character must fight against the very thing that saved her life. It is an interesting concept but would have been more effective with different actors and a different script.

Jonathan C (fr) wrote: Completely void of any of the charm or likability of most Richard Curtis films. The only reason is checked this out is because he directed it, but that was a big mistake. Without a doubt, one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Ariel R (it) wrote: Like anyone expects anything good from Pamela Anderson. Please.

Marcus W (jp) wrote: The lack of a conscience lets the film down.

Wade T (jp) wrote: A very pleasant surprise. The almost remake of The Big Chill, About Alex, features very solid acting and a surprisingly thoughtful script to boot. It is a perfect film for the current generation to watch and guess which character they are or will become, as we are all surely one of them. Give it a watch, you won't be sorry.
