Chris H (de) wrote: Interesting if it were 10 minutes. But, 83 minutes and it becomes long winded.

Tara S (gb) wrote: This didn't do much for me. It was okay, but maybe I just prefer David Tennant in the wackier roles. (Wow, do I really mean that?)

Dan S (ru) wrote: An intriguing though at times very plodding film concerning a very ambitious man (Klaus Kinski) who is inspired to try to build an opera house in the jungles of South Africa. Director Werner Herzog does a fabulous job capturing the lower-class and primitive working status of these areas, but wisely avoids this being an exercise of "fish out of water" with Kinski's character. The film does go on too long, but it does remain interesting even when it starts to lose steam in the middle portions. Kinski's bug-eyed bewilderment and passion are perfect for this character, and he is the biggest reason of all this film is a success and viewed by many people to be a masterpiece.

Haytham K (kr) wrote: Despite its historical inaccuracies, this magnificently staged costume epic about King Henry VIII's relationship with wife Anne Boleyn is one of the best period films from the 1960's. Richard Burton and Gnevieve Bujold are outstanding, with great support from Irene Papas and Anthony Quayle.

Bobby L (de) wrote: One of Ray's only movie to be played fully from camp, and it works deliriously. The set-up takes a little while, but it's a lot of fun to see these Edwardian Brits trying to figure out how to build the sphere (their rocket ship), and once they get to the moon, the sets are great as is the always quality work of the man, Harryhausen. Loads of fun.
