Tom S (ag) wrote: It's a meditative samurai film, then a meditative family drama, then a bit sentimental, then perfectly restrained, then perhaps a bit too preachy, then a perfectly orchestrated samurai battle which all adds up to a lesson about the emptiness of codes and how they blind us from empathy.

Joel V (de) wrote: The reason I loved this movie so much is for the originality of the story. The darkness of the humor is a plus as well its to bad that its not a popular movie but maybe its for that very reason its a gem in my eyes.(?)

Tristan P (jp) wrote: Released during a year when Shakespeare movies were all the rage, this remains one of the finest. It is filled with some interesting anecdotes and delves deep into how contemporary audiences feel about Shakespeare while re-enacting scenes from Richard III, Al Pacino excellent as the hunchbacked villain.

Craig R (gb) wrote: Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence is totally unnecessary and adds elements to the story that should be ignored. I see it as Maniac Cop 1 & 2 make up the actual story, while Maniac Cop 3 is a fun little bonus. With that being said I still think this movie is excellent. That is a "Wayne's World" type of excellent, as opposed to a rating better than very good. A short, but entertaining film made up of all the same slashing goodness from the first two with extra cheese and more fun loving 80's goofiness.

Michael D (ag) wrote: Barry Lyndon is one of those very long movies that I can honestly say I wish was longer.. Many people may disagree with me but I feel like this was Kubrick's masterpiece. I am a big Kubrick fan and I like all of his films but to me this is the best. This is a movie that will make you laugh and also make you cry. This is a powerful story and it's done in Kubrick fashion. Ryan Oneal was the perfect fit for the role of Barry Lyndon and I couldn't see it any other way. Another unforgettable performance was that of Leon Vitaly as lord Bullingdon..
