Dorianator F (au) wrote: Pretty decent film. But it didn't really grab my attention until the end. The filmmaker really put effort into filming the movie and I applaud them for that. But, it doesn't really show the individual soldiers on their own too often. I didn't really feel an emotional attachment. But, I thought it was a great movie that showed the work that the military does to support our country.
Bengel W (us) wrote: Cinematography is beautiful and well light giving a great visual movie. Actors are superb in giving a comprehensive emotional trip during this rather silly mans evening out. The film looks at the navet of a night out which may leave you angry and frustrated at Americans and their stupid empty lives. Nibbles: Bombay Mix.

In fact, this film has a lot more nudity than some of the others which gives it extra points in the T&A category and while the story works great for this kind of film it falls apart when it comes to the grand finale revenge sequence which really doesn't quite work. If you're going to do this kinda "get back at someone" film, the revenge sequence needs to be good as the film really does depend on it. Hardbodies tries but having a guy get covered in honey by lots of women and then covered in feathers only to end up in a big tub of water sounds more like a good time than revenge if you ask me ;)

Masorad (de) wrote: Exceptional between-war French reel set in the port of Le Havre, where various characters with skeletons in their closets, chips on their shoulders, half-buried grudges and deferred dreams rendezvous in an ultra-atmospheric genre-blend that is as asymptotic to art as you can find in cinema. Stray-dog Gabin, tortured rat-bastard Simon, and camera-loves-her Michele Morgan anchor the narrative. There are subplots, sure, but it's the playing-out of the main story in a location that rivals Casablanca for intrigue and promise that stays with you.
