Zoe S (gb) wrote: A highly successful employment of the found footage trope, Chronicle eases you into the fantastical plot with extremely realistic characters.

John B (kr) wrote: Beautiful film that provides the strange complications of the Arab Israeli conflict. Israeli doctors fight to raise money for treatment for a young Palestinian boy with an auto immune deficiency. The funding is provided by a person whose son has been killed by a suicide bomber. The mother holds open the possibility that the boy himself may end up as a suicide bomber. Complicated and not easy to comprehend.

Reece T (mx) wrote: A thought provoking film of a teenager growing up and experiencing love in a small town. Think of "Beautiful Thing" and "Get Real", but filmed in a sensitive and artistic manner.

Michael F (au) wrote: Starts out slow, but then picks up in the third act. It is cerebral for a haunting flick, which is good for those who have seen one too many cookie cutter haunting movies.

Madeline T (ca) wrote: An interesting look at the changes taking in place as China develops. A bit slow at times but did get me thinking.

Nancy B (kr) wrote: While God is in no way represented factually in this movie, it is entertaining. George Burns did a marvelous job, and Teri Garr wasn't too bad, either. And Carl Reiner has to be one of the funniest guys around.

Eric H (fr) wrote: After seeing this film all I can say its a classic. The plot is well put together, there is more than enough suspense and emotion to keep things rolling very nicely indeed, and the acting is superb. The photography is also worth a mention - very interesting and it contributes strongly to the film's effect. The film is sentimental on some levels, but refreshingly down to earth on others. This makes for a powerful combination of comedy and a little tragedy, as well as giving the characters real room to develop. No wonder Tatum O'Neal won an Oscar. She deserved it.
