James W (nl) wrote: An honest attempt. I know the 'found footage' thing is a bit corny but the over-all concept and production was really good - and it's an indie film, so like, why not 5 stars?

Trevor M (ca) wrote: Tilda Swinton gives a masterful performance as a tormented mother slowly driven insane by her unmitigatedly evil son since his birth. This movie shifts seamlessly between the present and past through flashbacks and keeps you on your toes throughout. We Need to Talk About Kevin is cinematic birth control.

Darryl L (de) wrote: Wordplay does a good job of mixing several kinds of stories including how crossword puzzles are made, celebs who play them, and an annual competition complete with suspense. I don't do crosswords, but might start. Nah, probably not.
Sean D (ag) wrote: Okay, I watched this before but I swear I never saw it. Anyway, this movie sucked. You have mediocre acting from the oldest sibling from 7th Heaven, but really could act on that show except Jessica Biel. The plot is so boringly slow and by the end of the film you will be more confused than anything else. The defeating of the Boogeyman is so lame and there's awkward teloportation between random closets and the bottom of beds, I have no clue. I just wanted to movie to be over and there was a zero body count officially by the end of the film, because no possible death could really be confirmed.
Cory B (ru) wrote: A brilliant debut picture for up-and-comer Neil Burger ('The Illusionist,' another great flick). If you're intrigued by anything 'Kennedy Assassination,' then you'd be into this. Any amateur filmmaker would to break onto the scene with something like 'Assassin.' It have one of those 'my heart just jumped into my throat with anticipation & suspense moments' that not many flicks can pull off. Loved all of it.

Simon P (es) wrote: Basic undercover cop action film, style is influenced by Eastern cinema but offers nothing new or exciting. A watchable low budget effort with no stand out performances, has the laziest acting that I have seen from Viggo Mortensen, however it's always good to see Robert Forster - unfortunately in a tiny role. Standard fare.

Michael M (nl) wrote: Classic 80's Kitsch. The premise is interesting, the acting is sub par, but if you like the 80's and Michael Crichton, you might just enjoy it.
Sebastian T (us) wrote: Corny, dated (the typical woman needs man theme), romantic fantasy about a man who becomes bewitched to a witch (for reasons one could easily guess). Lots of silliness but entertaining...ahead of its time with the trippy spell casting music and ambience.
Andrey B (jp) wrote: Good story with colorful performances especially of G. Robinson's. Nicely staged scenes and dialogues.
Catherine T (jp) wrote: A classic... I read the book probably a couple of dozen times when I was a girl, and only recently got to see the movie. It was quite faithful to the book, what I remember of it. It tugs at the heartstrings.
Eric E (es) wrote: Slow moving, slightly boring, overacted, yet completely engaging film about turn of the century small town folks and what becomes of them growing up. Very dramatic, and fun to see Ronnie Reagan as a spry, young, wipper-snapper! Interesting film.
