Insignificance

Insignificance

Four 1950s cultural icons (Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio, and Senator Joseph MacCarthy) who conceivably could have met but probably didn't, fictionally do so in this modern fable of post-WWII America. Visually intriguing, the film has a fluid progression of flash-backs and flash-forwards centering on the fictional Einstein's current observations, childhood memories, and apprehensions for the future.

Four 1950s icons meet in the same hotel room and two of them discover more in common between them than they ever anticipated. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Ana B (es) wrote: Road trip movie starring Jeff Bridges as Kyle Garrett famous ex-baseball player that is being dragged around the country by his son Carlton due to the impending operation of his mother (Kyle(TM)s ex-wife). Travelling with them is sweet Lucy, Carlton(TM)s ex-girlfriend. They spend three days inside a car trying to figure out what went wrong in their own relationships. It is a slow and predictable film, people endlessly talking about their problems and hopes, about the past and a seemingly uncertain future. Jeff Bridges is very believable playing again an alcoholic, is his signature character; and Justin Timberlake is Carlton the son living in the shadow of his father, he is a little too wooden for me, I think better stick to the music, mate. It isn(TM)t a bad movie, just an unremarkable one. It's very much on the border of 2 stars only, but I gave 2 and half because of the good performances of Jeff Bridges and the bright eyed ex-girlfriend, Kate Mara.

Tom F (jp) wrote: Based on a James Ellroy book and starring James Woods, this should have been 5 star material. It isn't quite in that category, but the central performace from Woods almost completely carries the film. Few actors can switch so quickly from charm to brutality as Woods. The character is a total slimeball but yet still gets the audience on side, great ending as well.....

Grayson D (ca) wrote: Deneuve and Rey are as usual brilliant but this isn't Bunuel's best, still a great film though lacking the humour of some of his work.

Lilianetty l (us) wrote: I must admit the cast did a brilliant job! The music score was stunning also. I must admit Ian Holm did a wonderful job *can't spoil even if I want to what his role was here, still is a hateful one, so good!* Johnny Depp gives a wonderful performance, same Heather Graham. Even the one that works for the Ripper did a brilliant job (I love everything that man does in films). 4 stars of 5 for this movie (long time wanting to watch it and now I got the time at last). Enjoy...now to hope Sherlock S4 includes him as a proper villain (he would be the most amazing case ever) - May 28, 2014 review.

Joshua H (fr) wrote: A simplistic adventure offering up the morals of a campfire fable. Washington has fun in the lead, alongside Oldman who helps to elevate this action epic.
