Brian C (es) wrote: Despite the extremely annoying musical score (which a found footage movie should never have), Darkest Night was pretty decent.Enjoyable story with lots of interesting characters with a family dynamic left segregated from the rest of the world in a horrific nightmare. People go missing and turn up dead, the furniture shakes, and they hear strange noises. It leads to lots of tension and drama, and great interaction of characters.

Daisy M (br) wrote: Besieged was an useless combination of political and romantic drama, wandering back and forth between the two leads that never really had reached each other. The movie had an interesting beginning with the imprisonment of Shandurai's husband, but the story gradually fell apart after that. There was no emotional force driving the events in the movie and there was never any satisfying realization of Shandurai's sadness. It was fine performance by Thandie Newton in the lead, but Bertolucci's lack to balance out the two halves of the story, stopped the characters from reaching their full potential, and so we could not seen a fascinating drama. Too bad.
Kevin R (us) wrote: It's better to be the hammer than the nail Ed owns a hardware store in a small town. He has a nice house, a nice job, and a fairly nice life. Ed owes everything he has to his mother who passed away about a year ago. Unfortunately, he hasn't got over the death of his mother. One inauspicious day an apparent con man arrives on his door step and offers to bring his mother back to life for a nominal fee. Ed initially jumps at the chance to bring his mother back to life, but once he sees her in her new living form, he may decide that he made the wrong decision. "You cut your mother's head off. It kind of follows that you killed her." Jonathan Wacks, director of Sirens, 21 Jump Street, Mystery Date, and Going to Extremes, delivers Ed and his Dead Mother. The storyline for this picture is a solid blend of comedy and horror and reminded me of a twist between Pet Semetery, The Frighteners, and Idle Hands. The script and settings were well selected and the acting was marvelous. The cast includes Steve Buscemi, Eric Christmas, Ned Beatty, Rance Howard, and John Glover. "You poor fucks must be hungry." Ed and his Mother is a film my wife found. We have been following Buscemi films a little more closely since we enjoyed the Boardwalk Empire series so much. This film was marvelous and I was surprised that I had never heard of this gem. This film contains brilliant comedic content with a mixture of a zombie/gremlins feel. I do strongly recommend giving this film a shot. "Your mother is in the refrigerator." Grade: B

Scott M (de) wrote: Story about a guy who is chased all over the city because: "He made a phone call"! Gene Hackman is wonderful. One of Will Smith's better movies. Very much like 'The Fugitive'. Tony Scott's cinematographer makes me dizzy but I like it.
Nathaniel T (ru) wrote: For a movie 2 hours long, I was surprised how short and boring it was. It was basically an insult to Buddhism, and Keanu Reeves DID NOT do a great job as Siddharta. And no, entering the Matrix WON'T work.
Bill B (ag) wrote: Anna Kendrick spends half the movie in a dress she was probably sewed into. What's not to like?
