The silence makes us aware of amazing details all over the film, like the light, the dust, the rain, the snow flakes, the darkness, the sounds. All the film is like a sequence of paintings, of an infinite beauty. It starts with Winter and ends with Winter again, closing and opening a perfect cicle or Armony and Beauty.Marvelous. A Poem.
Floyd C (ag) wrote: A great cast and a very interesting topic make this film a joy to watch, though, there are a few too many story lines that come to light throughout which forces the film makers to cut down on the amount of time they focus on each character. This bugged me only because the characters were so rich i wanted to see more on each of them and was thus disappointed. Over-all though, this is a very good movie and I recommend seeing it ASAP.

Vinnie G (ru) wrote: Point Blank suffers a little from a contrived structure and continuity annoyances; however it is rip-roaring, blow-your-socks-off, tense and exciting experience with devoted performances.
Kim W (au) wrote: Fairly lame movie. Interesting to see the three main characters so young, including Antony Michael Hall more than scrawny.
Black S (gb) wrote: Notable for covering the clash of colonial powers in Africa during WW1 and the high powered cast. The title is known more for the song by Motley Crue by most than this film they copped it from (during a drug induced haze while broadcast on late night TV). Excellent receation of the era with great panoramic on location filming with a huge cast of extras, including Askaris and massive props. But the project suffers from the direction since the film cannot seem to decide if it wants to be a serious actioner or a light comedy. Semi-entertaining enough to be worth a look however, particularly for fans of Moore, Marvin & the delectable Parkins...

Rod S (gb) wrote: Gave this a re-watch. William H. Macy, Meat Loaf, Laura Dern and David Paymer show respect for Arthur Millers revered material with some knockout performances in a pot-boiler that only just transcends it's stage trappings. The message is heavy-handed but a necessary reflection of the period in 1940's America where paranoia is bursting at the seams. Some strange angles and editing are jarring at times, but it is still a solid piece of work from first timer Director Neil Slavin.
