(kr) wrote: I Am Number Four is a disappointing film. It is about aliens and their Guardians are hiding on Earth from intergalactic bounty hunters. Alex Pettyfer and Timothy Olyphant give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. D.J. Caruso did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.
(it) wrote: Loaded with the great chemistry between Keira Knightley and Steve Carell, Seeking A Friend is a sweet and emotional film, even when its story is somewhat uneven with the pacing.
(nl) wrote: Probably the quietest pixar short around? The aliens expressions are brilliant.
(de) wrote: It is great South Park like humor, but it is wildly dumb and a bit weird, but a few of the jokes make it worth watching if you are in to political humor or offensive humor.
(de) wrote: I didn't like Mandy Moore's character in this one. "How to Deal" is a pretty standard chick flick. Not as fluffy and sappy as your average chick flick maybe, but it's certainly nothing new. I quite liked the guy though. Now that I think of it, the whole supporting cast was pretty decent. I don't hate this one.

(mx) wrote: 31/100. I realize it is a family oriented film, but that doesn't mean children don't have brains. It is needlessly inane, with that gross humor they so often put in films of this kind. (throwing up, farting etc.) A waste for everyone involved in the movie. The silly plot is just so far out there it makes you wonder what nitwit thought up something like this. With the poor grammar the children use, their misbehaving antics and their relentless defiance of authority, I hope most parents skip this one for their kids. There are so many creative and worthy family movies out there that are so much better than this.

(ag) wrote: I'd heard about this cult film, but never watched it. The story involves a series of bizarre murders, where the offenders lose their hair and become crazed killers. Zalman King, who would later become the soft core producer to schlock like "Nine 1/2 Weeks" and "The Red Shoe Diaries," stars as a doctor who begins to figure out that a drug people took ten years before is responsible for turning them into killers. It's an interesting film, but I'm not quite sure it's worthy of cult a major cult following. It's weird, but it's not all that good a film either. It's worth checking out if you're a fan of oddball sci-fi/horror, psychotronic types of stuff, but it's not for all tastes and certainly not as good as something like "Liquid Sky". I did read that this film was a favorite at CBGB to show on rear projection behind punk bands, like The Ramones, back in the day.
(it) wrote: There is some gorgeous cinematography in this film, very few cuts which really allows you to focus on the movement of the camera and actors. However, the Russian voice over drove me crazy. It took me about half an hour to realize that it was a voice over and not the characters speaking.

(it) wrote: 3.5: Probably Ford's best cavalry picture, which means it is an outstanding western. However, when one compares it to his truly great pictures it is laughable. The same goes when one compares it to The Quiet Man, but this is only natural as the only reason he made this cavalry trilogy was so that he would be allowed to make The Quiet Man. The straightforward nature of these cavalry pictures make it clear that it is not a passion project for Ford. Still, he manages to turn out an outstanding western just the same.
