(es) wrote: The Wrath of Vajra is actually a pretty decent martial arts film. The fight sequences are really good, the look and feel of the film is top quality, it's not too schlocky, and I always like a good Bloodsport like film.Unfortunately, there are way too many characters making the story a bit too convoluted. You can still figure things out but there was clearly one too many aspects added into the backstory to make this film flow naturally.I'd recommend giving this one a go. Not every day you get so many languages used in a film of this nature and I'm not sure it helps the film but it doesn't take away from it either. The film has a historical background but I have no idea if any of it is based on a true story. Of course... it doesn't really matter as long as someone gets beaten up real good :)

(br) wrote: Well paced Congolese thriller in which we learn that there is no love lost between the Congolese and their neighbours in Angola. Packed with welll rounded characters, well acted and authentic locations. Avoids the usual Hollywood cliches with not a car chase to be seen. More sex than you'd find in most 15 certificate films. Worth your attention if it is playing in your town!

(gb) wrote: Not seen the first film, so watched this as a stand alone. It's actually quite spooky in places and has good performances from a quality cast. A disturbing, near future vision in which you are never quite sure what is going on.

(nl) wrote: What a mess... pathetic excuse for a film is a jumbled pretentious, boring, dull mess.. Ethan Hawke wastes his own and the talent of many others... If you liked Full Frontal you'll probably like this film2 out of 10

(au) wrote: Such a sympathetic tragedy with two of the most adorable lead actors ever. The time hasn't been kind to all of this film but it's still excellent.

(fr) wrote: Wake Island is one of those movies that cannot be dismissed as mere World War Two propaganda. The fact is that the battle for Wake Island actually happened. The battle for Wake Island concluded just before Christmas of 1941 and news from the place was pretty sketchy. It would not be known until after the war ended exactly what happened on the place--A must watch for the WWII genre fans!!
(kr) wrote: Could be not too bad but although it's a long movie, it seems they were jumping logical steps to get along. Conversations had potential but were cut off or stereotyped, some characters were without depth or lacked significance (hello, Billy?), and please keep Alonso out of the business.
(mx) wrote: A one night stand results in a pregnancy in this Judd Apatow comedy. Much like other Apatow comedies, this pic is a bit long and chatty dialogue that bogs it down.
(ag) wrote: I'm glad I listened to the people who said this was underappreciated, because I otherwise had pretty much written it off as a boring, romantic, Hornblower-esque rousing naval adventure based on its outward appearance. Was not expecting the creepy, foreboding atmosphere (mostly due to the brilliant use of score), incredible tension, and brutal, gut-wrenching action.
