Christopher S (nl) wrote: Cheesy, and awkward, but some very big very important things are hard to express. If you are a fan of God or football this is a wonderful film. I cried like a baby at many occasions, this is sad movie but inspired and filled with well meaning insight to the power of faith.

Paul J (gb) wrote: Interestingly, this film was never supposed to be a "Cannibal" film, much less a horror movie. It's more of a melodramatic thriller with a bit of Pocahontas thrown in. The single scene of cannibalism became so influential (mainly due to the film's enormous box office success around the world) that countless other cannibal films followed, each one trying to out-gross the last. Man from Deep River is also disturbingly noteworthy for its many authentic ritualistic killings of animals. Actual tribesmen kill snakes, lambs and crocodiles in nasty ways. Clearly animal rights hadn't been properly established yet. In the end, the Italians were the ones who started the whole Cannibal craze of the 70s and I suppose this film will be remembered for being the first film to show human flesh being eaten in any graphic sense, despite the fact the it was initially and ironically pitched as a pseudo-documentary.

Lisa E (kr) wrote: Probably the least SFXy sci-fi film in history. Lots of laugh out loud moments and powerpoint presentations.

Alec J (es) wrote: I was pleasantly suprised when I saw this movie it isn't ur typical girl likes guy gut gets girl they get married movie it actuly has a good story and characters I wouldn't say it's a must see but defintly a rainy day movie.

Alter N (gb) wrote: Painfully slow. Human. This nearly wordless engaging meticulously painted screenplay begged me to watch to its completion. I appreciated; the challenge the actors expressing the truth of their dialogue, and the fine brush strokes of the film maker using every last bit of "all" to convey the short lived depth of truth-youth-love, free of the confines of what screen writers only dream of conveying in words (they cannot write what I am feeling?). My soul watched and reflected on what it knows and feels. Most people will hate this film. I encourage you to watch it.

Ca M (nl) wrote: This is a really odd, highly imaginative, movie. You might wonder what it's about, but at the same time don't question it at all. If you don't mind sub titles give this a watch.

Jonathan A (ca) wrote: This movie I enjoyed alot when I was young too, I can't find it anywhere in stores though.

Samantha S (nl) wrote: Good job of adapting a clever and intelligent book. Comedy for smart people! If you like the movie, strongly suggest the book so you get the whole picture.

Logan M (fr) wrote: A little more serious than Woody Allen's other masterpiece, "Annie Hall," but "Manhattan" is just as witty and enjoyable.

Ralph A (br) wrote: Anyone that gave this charmer less than 4 stars, Missed the point. Not only glorious in it's truth and poetry, it was what REAL is all about. Applause to all !
