In ancient Egypt, Isis and Osiris ruled the land. All were happy for the couple except one, Set, a jealous man who killed Osiris in order to take over his kingdom. Isis snuck into Osiris' tomb and tried to raise him from the dead using her black magic. Set caught Isis in the act and had Osiris cut to pieces, with each piece buried in a different part of the land, so Isis could never again raise her husband. Isis vowed to avenge Osiris' death and return with him to rule over all the worlds. Now, six college students take their last course in archeology in anticipation for graduation. Their last assignment is to uncover and document the museum's new acquisitions with their teacher, Prof. Shields and world-renowned Egyptologist Dr. Nasir. During the night they haphazardly awaken the ancient spirit of Isis' lost soul and her wrath is unleashed on the group.

Joel H (kr) wrote: Why do I keep watching the movies in this franchise? I don't care about the characters, the story is convoluted and at times it is so full of CGI and green screen that it feels like I'm watching a cartoon. Even the action sequences in Resident Evil: Afterlife are repetitive and boring. Play the games, don't watch the movies.
Shane S (us) wrote: Agreed. The only reason why this film looks good is ol' Mr. Blonde here playing a crow who helps the gang go to Jesus...Think about that for a minute.

Downey Jr plays the unique Chaplin using a combination of fine physical performance art, as well as the intelligent, and somewhat flawed side to the great man that is pretty terrific. There's plenty for fans of early cinema to enjoy with fine detail regarding production and even the screenings themselves, which is something actually quite rare to see. Chaplin did lead quite a long and eventful life (a lot of movies, wives and children, claims of being a communist, rise and fall in popularity), and at nearly 2 and a half hours long this still really struggles to fit everything in as his wives come and go scene by scene without really knowing anything much about them. This was always going to be a slightly too ambitious project, and it is flawed, but it's still a very notable attempt to recreate the life of an icon.
Alec B (mx) wrote: What it lacks in convincing characters, it more than makes up for with insane/brilliant action sequences. Woo threw anything resembling realism out the door, but unlike some of his later stuff, the endless gun battles in "Hard Boiled" never get tedious.

Guido S (it) wrote: As a wrestling fan, I wanted to see this but never got around to it.. Finally did, and is it bad. Basically Hulk Hogan plays himself, except his name is Rip, and a television network wants him on their channel but Hulk doesn't want to go. So they hire a fighter to beat up his brother to force him to fight. Could have been good, but it is incredibly dumb. Probably the only highlight of the film is seeing Peter Dinklage in a blink and you'll miss him role.
