On a Greek island during the 1912 war, several people are trapped by quarantine for the plague. If that isn't enough worry, one of the people, a superstitious old peasant woman, suspects one young girl of being a vampiric kind of demon called a vorvolaka.

Ryan J (ca) wrote: Danny lives in his dead mothers home with his brother Nicky, both are junkies but Danny is trying to break the habit, which is very hard when Nicky is begging and pleading for Danny to ring someone up to score. The film is original and pretty whacked out in its depiction , it has some interesting moments and it's a decent trip into the mind of someone trying hard to break the habit but has temptation and a fucked up family trying to ruin him. Very bleak comedy. Interesting.

Jason T (es) wrote: The cast is fun and like able but as a comedy it's not that funny or touching as a drama. Zach kinda plays a less toned down version of his character in Hangover. It's an Ok rainy day rental for fans of the cast.

Frances H (ag) wrote: Not a successful film. There is no chemistry between Murphy and Wilson and the plot is insipid, with nothing in common with the TV series. A bomb, not worth watching. Critics were right this time.

Shaun W (gb) wrote: There has never been a better example of a movie that desperately wants to be good, but gets so lost in trying its viewers stop caring half way through.

jason h (es) wrote: This is the only movie ever filmed in my hometown. If you lived in Ft. Pierce you would understand theres not much to use here. There isn't a good actor for miles. Empire of the Ants was very good considering the resources that were available. Here, we simply use miniatures and green-screens. CGI isnt exactly available to those without alot of money.

Matthew B (de) wrote: David Lynch you are a genius.Eraserhead tells the story of Henry Spencer who lives in an industrial wasteland where he must contend with a new, strange baby, an unreliable girlfriend, a beautiful girl across the hall and the lady in the radiator.Never before have I seen a movie that disturbed me, grossed me out and left me confused, but for some reason I can't stop thinking about it. Eraserhead is both shocking and unique, as this movie drives into the mind of a man who's having a living nightmare of rising a child that he never asked for, the environment that he's living in and just how unhappy he is. What David Lynch is so good at doing is making he's movies feel like a nightmare or a dream, just by how it's directed and shot creates the effect perfectly, and Eraserhead is the icing on that cake. Watched the movie twice already and after thinking about it; Eraserhead is a work of art.

Russell S (jp) wrote: An odd movie that despite its serious and spooky intent has moments that make you want to laugh out loud. The story itself has a cool central premise and the performances are generally fine although the character of Dr Ross is terribly miscast and just looks like a thug in lab coat. The dour ending, though meant to be poignant comes off somehow as mean spirited. Despite it's flaws and TV movie feel I still find it entertaining and do return to it every so often.

Torrei W (au) wrote: Because Dr. Vo is rating this movie high, I have to take this as if it were Ebert giving a review (: I'll be back later this week to post a rating.

Wade W (ru) wrote: Nightcrawler is one heck of a good time. Gyllenhaal is utterly perfect as a crazed nightly news footage chaser. The film is dark, smart and full of ingenuity. This is one of the best movies of the year. (4.5/5)
