Carole R (ru) wrote: Weak plot, awful continuity but it's a caper as described by Francis Rossi. Sound track great and lots of fun. A guilty pleasure for middle aged parents and teenage kids.

Chris V (gb) wrote: After a fantastic opening act, the film sloshes around (albeit with some semblance of a purpose) in its stagnant motifs that often feel lazy rather than stylized, culminating in an anti-climactic climax topped off with a poetic, but unearned ending.

Greg H (fr) wrote: Despite being endorsed by real life senior USN officers Chester W Nimitz and Charles Lockwood I found the film to be pretty poor entertainment. Equipment errors such as the use of aqualungs (not invented until well after WW2), low budget model work and special effects and a dull script which fails to build up any tension (and it has plenty of opportunities) really make this a film to avoid unless a fan of Ronald Reagan. It was billed as a tribute to the men of the US Submarine force in WW2 but I think any genuine submariner from that period would be embarrassed to watch it. I would have liked to have awarded the film at least one star but in honesty I couldn't even do that.

Delia D (es) wrote: A very down to earth movie, no unnecessary embellishments. It has that warmth and intimacy to makes you wonder if you haven't turned into a fly that can go anywhere and witness all those events. It's about opening up to someone, telling them things that we haven't shared with anyone else before. It's about truly connecting with another human being, a rare gift that we all yearn for but few achieve. Finally, it boils down to what this true connection can bring and that is peace and tranquillity with oneself.

Marcia C (ru) wrote: Great for a thriller, always keeps you anxious, but I leaves an empty feeling at the end. Somewhat disappointing in that regard.
