The producers of this documentaries have done very well and the stars of the documentary 'The Animals' also performed very well including the insects, birds and incrustations. All in all I give this documentary a Rotten Tomato Rating of 10 out of 10, that's 100% well done Britain.

It should have had more of the musicians walking around the country interacting with the people there or music. It was unnecessary and boring to detail the the setup of the stage and lighting and political issues. Its pretty clear that not many people involved really knew much at all about Zaire politically or culturally. The interesting thing other than the music was ironically not discovering the differences between Africans and Americans but the differences between Americans now and then. Also there was a really creepy scene Mohamed Ali was nearly making out with a little girl and then said to the camera something along the lines of there may be a language barrier between us because I speak English and she speaks French but someday we will communicate. My favorite performance was the click song by Miriam Makeba.

(mx) wrote: A relatively early work from Studio 4C but nevertheless one that shows off their skill in adapting the source material to the screen. Overall a rather standard anime plot that develops into a supernatural/metaphysical/(religious?) ordeal. The animation is gorgeous, with exciting action/chase scenes through the streets of Istanbul and the Ararat mountainside which give it a sense of a fast paced Hollywood work in the vein of the Borne movies, especially with the good amount of blood and casualties. Overall enjoyable although at times it seemed the ending was a bit forced, crossing over into the realm of fantasy and abstract whereas for the most part the film was more of an action/adventure fare. Still some good early work from Studio 4C.

Fiorentino is enchantingly wicked as the cold-blooded beauty who uses men like toys. Fiorentino's performance is one of the greatest villians roles I have ever seen. It is amazing and poignant seeing a female villian so cold and so ruthless toying with the men, manipulating them into her own doings, and getting away with it while laughing behind their backs and throwing them out like pieces of washed up meat. Ladies if you are reading this go and see this film and afterwords cheer for Linda Forentino.

(ca) wrote: Critters' plot is not as interesting as Gremlins since there is little story, it's only about humans being attacked by monsters. The horror and special effects are impressive but only help redeem the plot a little.
(de) wrote: Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn light up the screen together in this romantic comedy that, dare I say, is more fun than their later pairing in near perfect "The Philadelphia Story."
(ru) wrote: Michael Grais & Mark Victor co-wrote & produced this sequel to the successful supernatural thriller they co-wrote with Steven Spielberg. Based roughly a year after the events in the previous chapter, a grave has been discovered underneath the indian graveyard, that caused the hauntings in the first film. Because of Carol Anne's previous trip to the other side, an evil manifestation known as the beast has taken the form of the Reverend Kane (One of the dead in the aincient grave), & wants to take Carol Anne back to the other side. With striking visuals, a good solid script and a returning cast giving decent performances this is a mediocre sequel, that has some effective atmospheric scenes.
