Greg N (de) wrote: It's running on so many cylanders that I think it found some new ones. Don't even get me started on how pretty the thing looks or the brilliance of the compositions. Martin Freeman is so perfect here. Equal turns sleezy, righteous, cowardly, snobbish, and always dedicated. Greenaway makes some references to earlier work like The Draughtman's Contract that feels a bit self-congradulatory. But it's Peter Greenaway. He's kinda earned the right.

ken j (kr) wrote: Ive seen tons of movies about killer everything from snowmen to gingerbread men but this one does take tops as haveing the weirdest killer of them all a full grown stinking Shit yes shit monster. A serial killer escapes from jail just to get hunted down in the sewers and shot thats when the fun starts his DNA is mixed with some kinda toxic sludge that tranforms him into the above title MONSTURD im not sure i can recommend this to anyone though its played mostly for laughs so anyone with a taste for this kinda movie by all means see it other then that just pass and find something else

James H (it) wrote: Bigger, bolder and better than the first Rocky. This film raises the stakes as the fight between Balboa and Creed becomes much more as personal than before. The story is magnificently told and Stallone is fantastic! This film delves even deeper into Rocky and makes you care for him even more. Sometimes the pacing is a little of and some of the emotional weight that some scenes should carry aren't as affecting as they should be. However the sequence with the theme tune is even better than the first!

Richard L (de) wrote: The 2014 Nobel Prize in Literature went to Patrick Modiano, co-writer of this 1974 French film. Pierre Blaise gives a standout performance as the title character Lucien Lacombe, an enigmatic young man rejected by the Resistance in 1944 and instead stumbling into a role as a member of the Gestapo. The character is somewhat enigmatic and never successfully sympathetic but instead young, apathetic, selfish, cruel, quick to take advantage of his unexpected new powers as a German policeman but forced to face the consequences of the war, especially after he falls in love with a young Jewish woman. The movie is tense and suspenseful precisely because it is always unclear what Lacombe will do next, even after he begins to realize that he is probably on the wrong side of the war.One of the more disturbing aspects of the film is the apparent lack of rules about harming animals during the filming. There are some really gruesome dispatches of animals that reflect the time and culture and add to the character's cruelty and the bleakness of the film. This is not an enjoyable movie to watch but it is incredibly well done and its commentary about war and complicity will likely always be timely.

Michael W (us) wrote: Chilling Italian horror has woman storing her adulterous lover's severed head in an icebox, keeping it on hand for tender moments. Twisted film that will have you avoiding trips to the refrigerator for leftovers. Lamberto Bava's directorial debut is memorable.

Lui L (ag) wrote: Annoying characters, not scary at all and they couldn't even do jumpscares right, also the ending was mediocre.

Damon G (kr) wrote: Interesting enough. Funny to see the weirdos who want to donate their wangs. The American guy is a real treat.
