(de) wrote: A touching film about love in all its shapes, life and death with great performances from its leads and an interesting narrative. Worth watching if you're in the right mood for it.
(mx) wrote: I've loved this movie for years, and it's definitely one of my favorites! Every actor gives a stellar performance. A fictional story with a relatable background, set against the real Civil Rights Movement backdrop in the South. This movie is so powerful. There are funny parts, sad parts, but the whole thing is moving and uplifting and I absolutely recommend it with all my heart!

(fr) wrote: Helicopters need the Top Gun treatment, and this is it. this film is to attack helicopters what Topgun is to fast jets. if you like fast action war films then this is a must see.
(br) wrote: Though the film is peppered with an ensemble of acting heavyweights, the overall effect is somewhat clumsy and leaden. The battle scenes are impressive but the 'message' is delivered in a heavy-handed style.

(br) wrote: Beautiful, sad and wise. One of the greatest films of all time.
(au) wrote: Brilliant. Although certainly a melodrama it wasn't over the top. Farrell and Gaynor in the 2 leads were a joy. 2 simple people in a complicated time. One of the best silent dramas I've seen.
(br) wrote: A classic. A must see movie for anyone with a pulse.A masterclass in acting from the ensemble cast , particularly Samuel L Jackson. Though De Niro puts in one of his under the radar performances that gets better the more you watch it.The real stars of this movie however are the sassy Pam Grier and the sublime Robert Forster.Everything you'd expect from a great Tarantino movie. Great dialogue, believable characters with depth, and a punchy story line.It really doesn't get better than this.
