A fantastic acting and great make up effect add on to this cinematographically astonishing film. The set up is original...A small town built by criminals guided by a corrupted cop and taken care by a pricier who's task is to rehabilitate the criminal's mind.Unpredictable twists come till the very end and the 3 hours length feel very much justified. The quite charming small town and peaceful landscapes are efficiently juxtaposed with the eerie suffocating atmosphere that lurks around the village.

Jose M (fr) wrote: Sometimes beautifully engaging while other times a drag, Rescue Dawn is an incredible, but tragic story of an American pilot who is shot down in Laos and imprisoned by villagers allied with the Pathet Lao. Dieter Dangler and four other prisoners plan for an escape while dealing with another prisoner, Gene DeBruin, serving as the foil. The film is really compelling to watch thanks to the strong performances from Christian Bale, Steve Zahn, and Jeremy Davies. The location is also enthralling to watch. I thought director Werner Herzog really did well with the shots and use of the environment and documentary footage in the beginning of the film. I linking this with Encounters at the End of the World, another masterpiece by Herzog. However, there are a few issues with the film especially Herzog having to do a PG-13 film because it cuts certain truth to the story even though it could lapse itself in glorifying torture. It doesn't help that there are certain elements of literature instead of historical accuracy like the use of foil which sparked controversy among the family members of DeBruin. We are left in the dark with the characters after the big break out. Don't think of it as a spoiler, this is film is after about survival.

Tras ello, aparece un nio de 10 aos que dice ser la reencarnacin de su marido. Recomendable por la actuacin de Kidman y su abierto final, pero es muy lenta. Buena msica de Alexandre Desplat.

Alex E (jp) wrote: Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story may be a total farce in some regards to the legend's life, but I would be lying if I didn't say it was entertaining.Jason Scott Lee (in no relation to Bruce) truly shines as Bruce Lee. While he might be physically bigger, you immediately forget any differences, and truly believe he is Bruce Lee. He also has great chemistry with Lauren Holly, who plays Linda Lee Cadwell (Bruce's widow).Yes, there are many inaccuracies in this film, and yes, the whole subplot of Lee being haunted by a demon seems rather silly when reading it on paper (though I perfectly understand the meaning behind it), but the plot moves along nicely, and demonstrates Lee's message well. The film also has some great fight scenes, and lush cinematography, plus one of the best film scores I have heard from a film of the 90s.Whether you love this movie or not, you have to admit, it does Bruce Lee justice a lot better than the travesty known as Birth of the Dragon.
