(ru) wrote: Absolutely amazing that all of this was done by hand in pencil. The animation lends itself to dream sequences and moments of hyper-reality. There is no dialogue, but the film does not need any. The music and editing are brilliant together. I didn't always care for the story, and the characters are certainly not sympathetic, but the art overrides this trivial matter :) I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Plympton after the screening and he was very kind and passionate about his work. Highly recommended!

The only draw-back is Costner's annoyingly screechy & hard-headed wife. The only place the film is found wanting is in her repelent demeanor. Otherwise, I love it. A beautiful idea. And a touching ending.

At that time, this was innovative for its small suspenseful times of the classic sci-fi plot, and it runs longer than those computers. (B+)(Full review coming soon)
