Zeb D (ag) wrote: Well where do i start? This is probably one of the worst movies i've seen in a long time... not for the script or storyline but just because the acting is so bad. The movie is your typical horror film about a rapist/murder(who i must say is just about the only decent actor in the movie). It starts off bad and goes downhill from there, at some points your asking yourself "How stupid can you be?". I seen at least 5 oppurtunities to escape or at least make a decent escape attempt or several ways to sneak attack this guy. Instead what you get is the victim standing there just taking whatever he throws at her and crying about it until the (at least decently) smart FBI agent gets thrown down the hole with her(go figure). She comes up with some interestingly dumb plans on how to escape or kill this dude that somehow is always at the right place at the right time(or his dog is). typical ending with no real plot twists worth mentioning, the movie is sub par at its best moments. The victim mixed with the ridiculous scrrenplay at the very begining is laughable, Actually the whole movie is laughable now that i think about it. Wait till you see what happens to the dog that somehow later on seemingly has nothing wrong with him. and then the way the killer goes out at the end is hilariously lame. The sheriff is a damn idiot that has an epiphany, of all moments, while he is staring at a fishing hook outside his police car in the middle of the woods fishing on the clock talking to himself(this scene was terribly wrote and executed). The hillbilly hodown scene was entertaining for the simple fact that the FBI agent acts like a jackass as soon as she rolls in the room( you'll see..so unprofessional.) Watch at your own waste of time, dont say i didnt warn ya.

Bloodmarsh K (ag) wrote: SyFy decided to take over the ''Lake Placid'' series, by adding in a worse cast, awful dialogue and laughable CGI. Makes me appreciate the original a little more.... a little more.

Mikhail B (ru) wrote: Truthful (though a bit exaggerated), energetic, picturesque and sexy: it's an invitation to office politics and its threats. I was quite surprised that a French movie looked so modern.

Marie M (mx) wrote: Out of all their films, the Astaire-Rogers team make their most striking deviation from the formula in this, their fifth outing out, with the absence of Astaire's trademark coat and chapeau: that is, unlike their other RKO incarnations, Astaire and Rogers' characters are not part of that particular social class where parties are frequent, endless, and populated by tails and gowns. In fact, in the only party they attend in this film, they are neither hosts nor invited guests - they are plus-ones, dates of guests. Astaire forsakes his white tie, cane, and lavish hotel suite for a navy blue uniform, chewing gum, and a communal locker room. In like working-class fashion, the silver spoon in Rogers' mouth is replaced with a struggling ex-vaudevillian. Beyond characterizations, the formula remains in tact, and it seems that the addition of a second romantic couple, q.e.d. in Flying Down to Rio and Roberta, bring out some of the team's most biting wit, though screen attention on either couple seemed more equitable this time around. Notable numbers include the film's opening to the delightfully sarcastic "We Saw the Sea"; Astaire's leading of a line of crewman with his feet in "I'd Rather Lead a Band"; "I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket," reminiscent of the playful "Hard to Handle" number from Roberta and including Astaire's impromptu prelude on the piano (proof positive of the man's overarching genius); and of course, "Let's Face the Music and Dance," certainly the darkest and most haunting of their dance duets with the theme of suicide and the arrangement and orchestration of the music. Overall, an enjoyable and memorable change in pace.
