By dissecting her body at the medical college he slowly starts to get his memories back. This didn't do anything for me I'm afraid and I found it a bit confusing as to what was going on. Was he hallucinating or was that his way of dealing with his girlfriend's loss?
Michael S (ag) wrote: For comedies like this to work, they need some credibility in order for you to buy into the outlandish premise. "Blue Streak" is wholly unbelievable, and that kills its humor.
David J (br) wrote: While not quite as scientifically absorbing as the consensus suggests, Gattaca is an intriguing sci-fi movie with smart dialogue, although aside from Jude Law, the acting can be better. The quiet atmospheric style the film takes is awesome, as is the chilly vibe.
Russell G (fr) wrote: The Vacation franchise maintains its integrity for one final Griswold family adventure. The Las Vegas location may not seem like the most promising setting, but this movie squeezes the most out of what Vegas has to offer. Clark's bad luck at the tables, a funny trip to the Hoover Dam, and Wayne Newton attempting to woo Clark's wife away from him keeps things interesting. An always-memorable visit with Cousin Eddie adds a lot as well. The series backs down to a PG rating; surprisingly, the comedy does not suffer. Chevy Chase is still funny with his nave character with a knack for biting off more than he can chew. Beverly D'Angelo remains a pleasant complement to Chase. While Marisol Nichols does nothing for the movie as the daughter, Ethan Embry as her brother is one of the best parts of the movie. It may not be quite as funny as the original or Christmas vacation movies, but it still has a very enjoyable balance of family sentimentality and goofy comedy.

Bradley J (ag) wrote: Bad Santa is absolutely hilarious in fits and starts and provides a needed contrast from the typical holiday uplift films, however its plot is disjointed, random and messy with no real sense of stakes. Billy Bob Thornton thrusts himself wholeheartedly in the title character, but he can't completely help that the film is tonally strained in between straight crude comedy and addiction drama. There are certain moments in here where the main characters instability is played so straight it erases the comedic aspect of most of the film. The film never is quite as funny as it could be but it is a frivolous affair welcome in between viewings of Elf and It's a Wonderful Life. Rating: 57
Jeff B (ag) wrote: Powered by the best of James Bond theme songs, Roger Moore makes an impressive and entertaining debut in this, a decently paced but often kooky and dated adaptation of Ian Fleming's second novel. Diamonds are Forever charted an overly campy course for the series, but Live and Let Die course corrects a bit, the humor and storytelling coming closer to a bullseye. The film still falls short of the center target but the new lead deftly fills some impossible shoes. Boasting far less macho swagger but far more comedic debonair, his Bond fits in perfectly with the authority-bucking times, even if much of the '70s-rooted goings-on now seems dated. In this PG-rated spy adventure, 007 (Moore) gets sent to stop a diabolically brilliant heroin magnate (Kotto) armed with a complex organization and a reliable psychic tarot card reader. Like the tuxedo-wearing men's only clique known as the Rat Pack, Bond's custom suit-wearing, club-card carrying playboy had become uncool or even pass by this juncture. So, rather than make him hip, they just make him cheekier with a devil-may-care attitude toward the changing mores. Though this would cause the franchise to almost become a spoof unto itself later on its run, it allows the franchise to re-establish itself and live and let live as of this outing. Despite its charismatic lead and some winning villains, however, the voodoo of the plot amounts to some bad juju. In this equation, espionage plus supernatural often equals some hokey suspense. Still, the boat chase and crocodile hopping make for some killer action sequences.Bottom line: Lives to Tell

Boy, am I glad I decided to watch it, it honestly just made my day. I really loved it. It says "comedy" in the description, and I thought it would be more of a drama, but this man's life sure had funny moments. It's funny, heartwarming, and plain inspiring. There are some goosebumps-moments in there. The main actor did a splendid job, half way through the movie he started looking like the real Paul Potts, that's how good he is. The director did a fantastic job too. All-in-all, it's a fun watch, even if it's not your type of movies, you'd like it. It makes you think, how a simple everyday man's life, can have so much adventure, and so much to be said about it.It's a story about a dream, about following that dream, and about reaching that dream.
Dilip S (kr) wrote: Definitely a lot better than the average horror film and particularly vampire film these days, but not as deep as it thinks it is or tries to be. Great acting, scary creature effects and solid cinematography made this an enjoyable watch, but it ends up tackling the same run-of-the-mill post-apocalyptic themes without adding anything new. Characters could have been fleshed out a lot more, but the story was fine at least. There are only so many times a somber voiceover coupled with sad music over a desolate wasteland can be effective. Worth a watch though because it tried to be beyond a simple creature feature. Gotta respect the effort because this is a horror film with a lot of dignity.
John R (ag) wrote: 161203: This movie suffers from a slow pace. There has just been too many of these video camera movies since The Blair Witch Project (1999). This one has it moments but just drags too much. Further, it seems rather rudderless and the distorted camera can be annoying. Anticipating V/H/S 2 because supposedly it's better.
