Jeff L (us) wrote: I was surprised at how much I liked this film. Well written, handling a delicate subject matter with sensitivity.

Private U (gb) wrote: Amazing movie! Just awesome! Really interesting story behind it, amazing cast, nice scenario and lots and lots of laughs! The soundtrack of the movie may as well be among one of the best of all times! I am already looking for the OST to listen to it. I liked the ending, so much, especially when the tragedy was avoided and especially when the Count survived, even if it looked like a long shot! Pretty girls, nerds, music, humor... What else do you need to have a good time? One of the best music-related movies of all times! Up there with the Solist, Pianist, Legend of 1900, etc.

Jon P (it) wrote: I never have liked Nicholas Cage in a role with a romantic involvement or interest, but as a thought-provoking sci-fi idea, the execution was excellent.

David M (br) wrote: Probably more exciting 15 years ago when it came out, it is actually less hyperkinetic that most of Carnahans work. This low budget cop thriller catapulted him to fame, which he then torpedoed with a series of flops and creative differences. Carnahans unquestionably has talent in a Tony Scott vein, but Narc fails to really add up the disparate pieces. Anyone who has seen a twisty cop thriller can guess the ending more or less, and it is revealed in a giant exposition dump that grinds everything to a halt. The acting is big and brash, and the story is muscular and loud, like De Palma without the tension. When a cop is killed his ex partner and a disgraced former undercover cop team up to track down who did it. It alternates between loud busts and interrogation with frankly uninteresting "investigating" consisting of mostly staring at paper and furrowed brows. If you've seen anything by David Ayer, you've seen all there is to see here.

Giacco C (br) wrote: the suspense is nullified by how painfully predictabile the whole thing is. Throw in an achingly annoying character and you've got yourself the recipe for complete failure.

John T (mx) wrote: I liked it. It's a weird dirty vampire sex movie. Where the vampirism is more like real life addiction.

Cory K (ru) wrote: An unappreciated masterpiece. The dialogue is amazing.

Dkny D (us) wrote: A true bollywood classic!

Jason G (au) wrote: Somewhat disappointing with all the big guns involved. Perhaps I just don't understand the "talk to the dead" trope, where movie characters often seem to want to talk to a dead loved one for the sole purpose of having said dead person tell them to move on with their life.

Dillon L (us) wrote: very funny movie, lots of fun

Benji S (it) wrote: Absolutely awful. It's like getting punched in the face repeatedly while Sandler laughs at you and waives his money wildly in your face, but not nearly as entertaining.
