David S (mx) wrote: I was excited for this film and was left extremely disappointed. It tried way too hard and the story jumps around so much. It's so cliched and the writing isn't good. Even some of the acting was bad and felt very forced. Pretty let down by this

Douglas L (br) wrote: This movie was lame. Promoted towards art house students who possess no knowledge or taste; drawn in by an authors name.

Stuart K (jp) wrote: Directed by Richard Rush, (Psych-Out (1968) and The Stunt Man (1980)) and written by Billy Ray (Volcano (1997) and The Hunger Games (2012)) and Matthew Chapman (Runaway Jury (2003) and The Ledge (2011)), this is a very silly erotic thriller which now represents a bygone era in cinema, the sort of thing they used to make in the 1990's that died a death and no-one has attempted since, and you can see why from this lurid hokum. In New York, psychoanalyst Bill Capa (Bruce Willis) falls into a deep depression after his patient Michelle (Kathleen Wilhoite) commits suicide by jumping out of Capa's office window. Capa moves away to Los Angeles, where he goes to stay with his friend and author Dr. Bob Moore (Scott Bakula), who invites Capa to sit in on his sessions. But when Moore turns up dead in his office, Capa carries on Moore's work with his patients, who include Clark (Brad Dourif) and Buck (Lance Henriksen), but Capa also gets involved with the mysterious Rose (Jane March), who turns up at Capa's house unannounced, and Capa becomes obsessed with her. This would go on to win the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture, and sink Rush's career in the process. It's a very silly thriller with an unbelievable (literally) twist ending, which just adds to the clutter, and the sex scenes aren't very good either.

Andrew A (br) wrote: very very very poor remake of a 70s classic.. the only thing i enjoyed about this film was the comical wire twing sound effect during the night vision bike chase.

James H (ru) wrote: Rather interesting low budget horror film, interesting characters, a bit ahead of its time. A bit provocative at times, some smart dialogue and interesting character interaction.

Red L (kr) wrote: When I saw this come up on TV, I decided to watch it because of the song. The movie is worth watching to see the '50s Hong Kong views and to see one view of how racism is treated in that era. But the plot of the movie is pretty simplistic - man meets woman - who fall in love despite different risks and backgrounds. It was nominated for Academy awards in 1956 - won for the music.

Jayakrishnan R (ca) wrote: 86%Watched this on 17/11/15This is the most underrated film of James Wan (even from the part of the audience). It is violent, well directed and more over filled with some effective cinematography (in the chase scene) and also the splendid sound effects that you could also find in Insidious. Kevin Bacon gives a really good performance and the film, although violent, does not believe that violence and bloodshed can give any happiness. Moreover, it's more realistic in the sense that it is the only serious action film that showed the lead actor's inability to use guns even in the second half of the film and he had to use instruction manuals as well for his aid. The film also seems to take inspiration from Taxi Driver.

Ameena M (gb) wrote: Streisand, Caan, Sharif and Roddy McDowall do not save this movie. Such a disappointment, but then again curiousity had me. I should have known better since even Streisand didn't want to do the picture.
