Luciano G (jp) wrote: A real life Polish spy thriller set during the heart of the Cold War..this is a strong and tight thriller, part enlightening in exposing the complicated relationship between Russia and its satellite states, but most of all it is a personal story of how one man can find himself trapped between circumstance, having no clear or easy choice, only heart, and perseverance in moral direction.....

Stanley K (nl) wrote: Satisfying mix of (slightly) stripped down superheroics, punchy action and slick and intelligent storytelling. Even the main female characters are decently served for once. The most coherent and (perhaps consequentially) most effective of the three movies.

Looking back on it now, it's frankly amazing that anyone would pay to see this and harder still to believe that anyone who saw it actually enjoyed it. Everything about the picture is awkward, from the embarrassing special effects to the strained relationships between the male and female characters. It does focus more on those relationships rather than a bunch of gross-out gags, but they're uncomfortable to say the least. The sex scene between Baio and co-star Felicity Schachter borders on date rape played to be cute, and the one between Aames and Heather Thomas is more brief but somehow worse. His bedroom looks like a pedophile's dream house. And while Thomas is the best thing in the movie simply because she was at the height of her attractiveness, she's not a very appealing actress. She was a star simply because of how she looked, and she clearly did not look like a high school student in this. Especially from the neck down. She was twenty-five when this was released. The film was clearly meant to be an alleged comic take on "Carrie", but there's not fun to be had here. The finale even takes place at a prom, where we finally get the payoff of more female nudity. Until that point, there was more male nudity. Just one of the many factors that bring "Zapped" down. Way down. It's an unpleasant movie that may have served a purpose in the early '80's, but not anymore.

Tim E (br) wrote: A thoroughly entertaining comedy, as well as a great exploration of what it means to "strike it rich". Not only is Chaplin timeless, he proves that he can be better with limitations than a lot of current directors are without them.
