Japes (ru) wrote: I decided to watch this movie because I saw Leigh Whannell was in it. I'm glad he's still alive, I was sad after I watched Saw. The movie definitely wasn't as bad as some of the FearNet movies I've seen. I did have some problems with it though, like the amount of unnecessary characters. Only a handful of characters seemed important and contributed something to the plot. I wasn't really feeling the plot either. I was more interested in the sister's story to be honest. She seemed like she went through hell, and it looked awesome. Sadly, there was not too much focus on that part, only the occasional flashbacks. I think if the sister's story had been the main plot, the movie would've been more enjoyable. ....I liked the twist. I didn't see that coming. It was a pretty okay movie. I actually watched the whole thing and didn't fall asleep. That says something.

Jack G (au) wrote: Tries to be kind of like the punk rock Network, at least in some part, but it's undercut by the satire being not the strongest part of the picture (yeah, we get it, band becomes fad thanks to hapless media, with the audience as being really hair-poofed lemmings the whole time). What makes it cool is as a punk rock picture it's fantastic; I loved Ray Winstone in this, since he basically played the best parts of his pissed-off self very well. Add that the Sex Pistols and the guy Paul from the Clash, and it's something of a real treat... that, and Diane Lane, not even 18, but still looking cute. I'd watch this again but not necessarily for its "message". As a punker, it's got some classic bits.

James L (kr) wrote: Takes a while to get going but once it does hit it's stride, it's an engaging watch. The desert setting on both sides of the spectrum worked really well.
