Lovro H (de) wrote: It's best to watch Lovecraftian movies without any expectations, that way you can't be dissapointed if it's a not-so-good movie, and this movie isn't great, but it's also not bad. It's an interesting take on the "Shadow Over Innsmouth" story and I've enjoyed this movie. The movie feels very cheap from time to time and the amateurish acting isn't helping, but once you get past those problems, the story itself and the *sigh* Rivermouth folk are really interesting and while the ending leaves many things unanswered, it's still quite a ride. There is also quite a lot of scares in it, mainly in the last 30 minutes. All in all, a good Lovecraft movie that delivers an interesting story and atmosphere but also fails due to it's amateur actors and underdeveloped characters.

Tony D (ag) wrote: Don't listen to the other reviewers. This movie completely disregards the premise and content of the first movie. I can't believe Barker allowed his name to be attached to this garbage. This movie is the definition of horrible. Save yourself the 90 minutes and go walk your dog or something.
Susanna N (it) wrote: A very odd movie. All stars go to the feline and human cast, especially Griffith who had to spend 6 months in the hospital after a lion-related incident and then went back and finished the movie...and the director apparently never fully recovered after his full body contact with one of the cats. Dedication to an idea (it took more than ten years to complete the movie) rather than profit.
