Kevin M W (ag) wrote: I enjoyed this lively take on a plot to assassinate #3 on the list of Nazis terrorizing Europe during WWll. Part of the reason why is the gentle underscore of fear throughout the piece and how it is a minute by minute battle to live with it, how demoralizing it is in the face of completing your assigned mission, particularly if your mission means certain death for yourselves. Riveting and provocative, the romances thrown into the mix only accent the action, not divert from it.

Alan C (ru) wrote: Mumford is my most watchable movie of all-time. A quirky and soft romantic drama, this movie takes you by surprise. It moves slowly, slyly pulling you into its small-town charm. When Mumford listens to the townspeople, I feel like I'm the one on the couch, seeing my problems fade away. I watch this movie about 4 times a year instead of going to therapy. It's much cheaper and just as rewarding.
Nathan B (de) wrote: Personally, one of Adam Sandler's greatest. We grew up with this movie, and never got tired of it. Remember seeing certain scenes for the first time, and then you rewind it (yes, we had VHS, NOT DVD or Blu-Ray) to confirm that he really did say that? I remember when he said "You get your ass out there and you find that f**kin' dog!!!", my parents, my brother and I burst out laughing after the second time of hearing it, as the first time we were shocked, LOL! The musical score isn't too bad about 2/3 through the movie, though the rest of the music is of course early to modern heavy metal/rock. The plot is of course silly, but it works, and Adam Sandler does a great job in shelling out a great feel good comedy, with humorous outbursts! STOP LOOKING AT ME, SWAN!!! If you haven't seen it, you should! It has the dad from "A Christmas Story (Darrin McGavin)" if that appeals to you, or not...all in all, a great movie!

Doctor S (ru) wrote: Megawatt cast stuck in a dimestore novel. They way they cranked 'em out in those days, they can't all be winners. Neat to see the stars in atypical roles - Clark Gable as affable millionaire, James Stewart as jealous boyfriend, and Jean Harlow the innocent secretary falsely suspected of being the maneater she usually portrays! Myrna Loy has the most thankless role as the suspicious wife. Stewart and Harlow have the best scene in his parked car as Jimmy flashes the brilliant timing and nuance he would become famous for. I actually felt sorry for Harlow at the end, even though it was supposed to be a feel-gooder. "Don't look for trouble where there isn't any because if you don't find it, you'll make it," the sage moral to this slight cinematic fable.
