Caroline R (us) wrote: This movie even features Okra the veggie guy in a split second cameo but that cameo means so much! A beautiful movie in so many ways. Win!

Anthony L (jp) wrote: 40 international directors were asked to make a short film using the original Cinematographe invented by the Lumire Brothers, working under conditions similar to those of 1895 using a special wooden camera. There were three rules: (1) The film could be no longer than 52 seconds, (2) No synchronized sound was permitted, and (3) No more than three takes. Lynch broke two of those rules but who?s counting. This was a wonderful display of affection for a bygone era of film making. Lynch?s eerie and grainy short film displays mystery, suspense, intrigue and bemusement. Not bad for 55 Seconds!

Giuseppe P (br) wrote: Una sinfonia colta e raffinata sull'immaginazione. Nella prima met vi un grado elevato di suspence e colpi di scena che va a scemare in un finale quasi filosofeggiante. Ecco, il problema che a mio parere un film non pu avere il suo culmine in un momento diverso dal finale. Regia comunque sorprendente.

Jeremy A (it) wrote: the first half is almost flawless : taught, considered, and works like a machine. everything you could ask from bunuel, who clearly paid it alot of care. after that it gets a little lazy. attempts to make up for the uneven second half, visual fetishes and jokes ('ugly' and 'shorty'), do help just not enough.

Norm d (jp) wrote: + A decent movie that might be called coming-of-age or even a mild rom-com. Basically it's a near autobiographical summer's tale by one of the screenwriters. It taps the issue of fatherlessness, or dad longing, from a couple of angles. That's interesting, but only up to a point. And there are quite a few genre cliches. You'll swear Greg Kinnear was in this after you've seen it. But alas ... Acutally, Kinnear does a better take on some of the same subject material in "Stuck in Love." And can you believe Carell is the heavy?! I know, huh ...?!

Ashley H (jp) wrote: Where the Wild Things Are is a decent film. It is about a young boy who runs away from home and sails to an island filled with creatures that take him in as their king. Max Records and Forest Whitaker give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places but still entertaining. Spike Jonze did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the adventure and drama.
