Stewart (de) wrote: Safe is the word. The actors are enjoyable to watch, but for the film to really work we needed to feel the paranoia for the first two thirds to contrast with the much better calm scenes. The plot twist was unintentionally creepy.

Alicia L (es) wrote: I would have possibly gone mad if I had watched this in 3D. Still want to do it, anyway.

The Movie C (jp) wrote: Sort of overated, just because it's silent and black and white it doesn't really mean the film is great. It's a great homage and tribute to the early days of filmmaking and all those old French movies, with mustached men and dancing women on stages. But anyway, it's quite interesting.

Jeff B (ru) wrote: Somehow, not even 5 minutes into the movie, these bird/pterodactyl things attack and kill people, giving those who survive a type of flu. Yay? I really feel it's unfair for me to rate this movie on the same level as others, but maybe if they spent more than a half hour on the production and everything else, I wouldn't even have to mention that this movie has about every flaw known to man. Though the acting in this movie did add a (rather unwanted) comedy element, as well as the horrible script and senseless things that the "main characters" did. So if you're a huge C-Movie fan with a taste for bad-acting humor, by all means, pick this one up, it's a "hoot."

Mike H (gb) wrote: I watched this film at a friend's house after he was saying it was good film we decided to put in on. In the end I thought it was a good film, simple plot but overall I felt it lacked the violence that the plot was trying to aim at, it could have had a bit more delivery in that sense.

Panta O (br) wrote: I love Japanese horror movie like Ring... and this wasn't in the same class! Nightmare Detective ( , Akumu Tantei) is a real slasher directed by Shinya Tsukamoto and starring Ryuhei Matsuda and Hitomi. Masanobu Ando and Ren Osugi play supporting roles, and Tsukamoto himself plays the unnamed villain. To me looked like a movie made for a TV and even the gorgeous Hitomi and her very interesting acting could not change that feeling of a low budget underdeveloped story...

Eric N (ag) wrote: the last in a string of good Johnnie To movies ('Running on Karma', 'Throw Down') that I've seen. The directing is jaw-dropping at times. Johnnie To's movies pretty much never evoke any emotion in me, but here i was pretty amazed by the story and camera.

Matt G (de) wrote: I see alot of negative reviews and I scratch my head why? Van Damme delivers an exceptional performance with an original plot, you see a new side to his acting in this one! Wish he made more like this! Michael Rooker also surprised me, very aggressive and gritty in this one!

john o (jp) wrote: It was bad, but there were a few good things. Julia Stiles was good in it and some of the characters were likable. But the movie annoyed me as all the characters are obsessed with dancing, which I guess is kinda the point but don't even ask me how I came to see this movie in the first place. Wasn't horrible but definitely wasn't good. Plus you never got to see the Dad congratulate Sara at the end when throughout the whole film, it felt like they were gonna resolve their issues but that didn't happen.

Colm M (ag) wrote: Pretty good movie and a thriller with an original premise. Again a European movie proves that you shouldn't overdo and underestimate the viewing public just to get airheads into cinemas. No windswept hero here, just a shit scared nurses aide trying to rescue his wife. A more discerning thriller for a more discerning European audience and the pace and excitement carries you through right til the end. Little cheesy but thats ok too. It is entertainment after all.

Samuel B (kr) wrote: I recently saw this on Netflix streaming, and remembered if vaguely from childhood. This movie is really corny and 80s cheese but is actually quite entertaining for me, probably more due to the fact that it brings back memories from my childhood in the 80s though.

Jacky L (nl) wrote: amazing that this was made in 1969. Blind Beast is disturbing even by today's standards. sexual obsession/ perversion, erotic sadomasochism.. depraved with a capital d. debatable if this was a cheap exploitation of a flick, i'd say 50-50. the female protagonist's acting was a lil painful to watch, especially when she first woke in the blind man's studio. and to hear the blind sculptor drone on about the sense of touch, yawn yawn. but what a jaw dropping set the blind sculptor's studio was.

Alexander C (mx) wrote: This a movie that would have been barely worth seeing 15 years ago and today it is an easy skip. Both acting and dialogue are weak and the directing is even worse. It had potential but could never be taken seriously due to over-reliance on gimmicks, ridiculous characters, and ill-fitting dialogue.

Wes S (ca) wrote: Generations feels like a overblown episode of the television series, but it's not bad. There are some nice character moments and the iconic moments with both Kirk and Piccard together on screen. The plot is a bit bland, and the action isn't too exciting. The other characters are entertaining, but not too strongly involved with the story.

Filippo V (mx) wrote: This movie was great and the actors are fantastic but i am not going to see it again.
