Brandon W (br) wrote: Many people say that this is the best Pierce Brosnan Bond Film. Now I haven't seen the other Brosnan films in a couple years but I would say that I have to agree with the masses. Goldeneye feels like a classic bond film set in a new modern age. Everything from the new technology, a female M with Judi Dench, and the experimental soundtrack. This film does tone down the action set-pieces for more spy-work. Not to say that there isn't action. The opening scene in the Soviet Chemical Plant was intense with two of the most amazing stunts. Pierce Brosnan plays a good James Bond. He was the first James Bond I was introduced to so he has a special place in my heart but looking at him now, I can tell that he is a tone-down version of the previous actors. Not as classy as Roger Moore and not as bad-ass as Dalton. But he gets the job done with the support of two of my favourite bond girls. Xenia Onatopp and Natalya Simonova. Both aren't just damsels in distress. Both are active characters who actually contribute to the plot. Overall. A very solid bond picture.

Strange, mystical Western that never exactly turns surreal but always feels like a dream; the once-in-a-lifetime cast of Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer, Robert Mitchum, Gabriel Byrne, John Hurt, Lance Henrikson, Crispin Glover, Billy Bob Thornton and Iggy Pop is reason enough to watch it.
Stephen S (ca) wrote: Godawful. This is one of the top 5 worst films I've ever seen...it's an absolute failure in every sense. It's horribly unfunny. It's uninteresting, and the acting is awful. Do yourself a favor and avoid this pile of shit.

Tor M (fr) wrote: All right drama thriller. It's got a nice pace and it never feels dragged out for it's length. The story is not that unique and at times I feel that it's nothing special or shocking about the happenings and treatment here. The guy tries to smuggle two keys of hash, you know. From Turkey. Via airplane. Not the smartest move if you ask me.I don't sympathise a whole lot, but it sure got it's moments. Some nastier scenes and some weirder ones spice it up a lot. Another spice are the many cool characters. Quite sure I have heard that song someplace before, at least a sample of it.Boy, those real pictures shows that the casting was quite exceptional - a nice touch! 6.5 out of 10 bad machines.
