(fr) wrote: Snow Day is an uninspired assembly of characters and story lines. The humor is on the level of flatulence by a chubby boy. Fortunately, everything comes together splendidly in the last act, and the kids and grown-ups are all first-rate. It's an original and rather clever premise, but first-time director Chris Koch doesn't do anything with it. Not a waste of time, but not quite in control of its destination. Chevy Chase looks tired, Pam Grier looks embarrassed, and pop star Iggy Pop gives a performance that -- if you can believe it -- is even sillier than his name. Unless you have a craving to watch a sluggish Ski-Doo race or want to admire Chase dressed as a hula dancer, consider this the cinematic equivalent of yellow snow. Snow Day fails both as arrested-development farce and as teen-age romantic comedy. This grasping comedy targets kids of all ages but will please no one as it exploits exhausted ideas about adolescence. VERDICT: "Not So Hot" - [Negative Reaction] These films are truly terrible films. They are not the worst things ever made, but they are definitely awful and should not be seen by anyone. (Films that are rated 1.5 or 2 stars)

Nevertheless, altough it does drags a bit, especially in the final act, it does has an impressive cast and strong performances, also the real life story is pretty interesting and it is a tale well told. Since i am a baseball fan i definitively enjoyed this a lot, so i'm giving it 4/5.

There's plenty of bad acting and absurd blocking, but the story actually makes sense, which is a bit disappointing when seeking an Ed Wood experience. There's also an impressive shot or two that took me by surprise. The there's some scenes, due to the horrendous acting and slow editing, that are reminiscent of Tommy Wisseu's masterpiece The Room. Jail Bait is not awful enough to be entertaining, but it has enough moments of complete distaste to get through it once. Oh, and the music is TERRIBLE.
