sree k (fr) wrote: script: there is novelty in the story. police officer turning into a gangster and taking revenge is new. morality is missing in the script. execution: the movie has some thrills. but it becomes predictable. twists are not there and therefore the story will not hook the audience that much. direction and screenplay: puri jagannath has done a neat job here. direction is near perfection. screenplay is racy and tight. casting: gopichand is perfect as encounter specialist. but as gangu bhai lacks the firmity. priyamani is average and wasted. roja is good in limited role. nasser and kelly dorge are well suited. rest characters are good. technical values: music is bad. background score seems copied from pokiri and rarely picks up. no songs are catchy. editing is good. it stands out. cinematography is average. only some scenes are worth catching. camera angling and cgi effects are also average. action episodes are very fast and does"nt attract. others: choreography and art work is bad. no real moves from gopichand. prodution values: the budget is aroudn 25crores. movie is worth for that much.... god knows!!! entertainment value: no real comedy. only action episodes are entertaining and few dialogs. screenplay being racy is commendable. final analysis: movie began well. betrayal point is the drawback. no comedy. just action and shoot out. some catchy dialogs. golimar is not the one that would release a ak 47 but will trigger the audience for its neat and racy screenplay.

Chris R (nl) wrote: Some actors and actresses are able to carry films just by their sheer presence. One of those in my opinion is Keira Knightley. Her adorable, pure smile and her stammering teary-eyed regret and sadness are always engaging. Also, Sam Rockwell is a national treasure. The two come together to make: Laggies, a pretty good movie. This is a coming of age film. Instead of the high-school into adulthood type, it is the already adult and trying to figure things out kind. IMDB sums up the plot pretty succinctly - In the throes of a quarter-life crisis, Megan (Keira Knightley) panics when her boyfriend proposes, then, taking an opportunity to escape for a week, hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika (Chlo Grace Moretz), who lives with her world-weary single dad Craig (Sam Rockwell). The film is ultimately about Megan. There is no antagonist; all the characters in the story are normal, well-intentioned people with their own issues, including Megan herself. The conflict is within Keira's character - she can't figure out how to go through life and struggles with letting go of her past. She does plenty of shitty things throughout the film, mostly lying. It isn't malicious or self-serving. The lies are motivated by fear and Megan's inability to face reality. You can't really dislike her. It also helps that it is Keira. She is adorable and lovable like she is pretty much every movie she's in. She is endearing and you can't help but to empathize and root for her. Megan is also a strange character, but not the manic pixie dream girl stereotype.imageHer journey of self-discovery is helped along by the high-school girl she befriends. Annika faces many of the same issues that Meghan did and still does. Megan helps Annika whilst also figuring out her issues. Unfortunately, Chlo's character isn't all that compelling of a character, very much overshadowed by Keira's. The weakest part of the film, as much as it pains me to say, is Sam Rockwell. Don't get me wrong, I love the man. His performance is his usual laid back, charming, and fun, somewhat like his performance in another coming of age story The Way Way Back (and most other movies he's been in). Though he was fun to watch like always, it is a poor casting choice. He doesn't fit the role of the disgruntled divorced lawyer. And some amazing way, he and Keira don't have much chemistry for the obligatory romantic subplot. In many ways Laggies is a lighter, more cheerful version of Young Adult (which is a fantastic movie by the way). It's mostly a drama about a young woman's struggle to let go of the past and move on with their lives that is decorated with plenty of laughs. While Young Adult's laughs were cripple jokes and dark humor, Laggies is light-hearted and silly (as evidence by the flying turtle above).Though it has plenty of flaws, Laggies is an enjoyable film, especially for anyone who is similarly stuck in a rut in their lives. As Sam Rockwell's character puts it, "You do realize that reverting to a teenage life and sneaking into my house is weird, right?", the plot is a bit strange as well as Megan herself. But isn't that what life is: a bunch of weirdos doing weird things and trying to figure it all out?
