Mike L (jp) wrote: Life After Beth is a really great idea with somewhat lackluster execution. Audrey Plaza has of course given another outstanding performance as an actress like she always does, but that isn't enough to bring this movie to life (pun intended.) I really wanted to love Life After Beth because of its amazing cast and interesting horror-comedy premise but it truthfully only made for a 'whatever' experience that is unfortunately forgettable.

John A (es) wrote: Excellent film from Jia Zhangke, mixing interviews with authentic Chengdu residents with composite interviews delivered by actors. Jia never tips his hand as to which are which, effectively blurring the lines between fact and fiction with Herzogian flair. The narrative drive from old to young and factory to condominiums, along with the shifting attitudes toward community, family, and culture make for a fascinating portrait of a China in flux at the most fundamental levels.

Thomas L (de) wrote: There needs to be more great Native American films like this made by Native Americans. Eric Scweig stars as Rudy Yellow Lodge, a reservation cop who cannot stand to watch as alcohol and poverty destroy a good and proud people. Graham Greene is outstanding as his alcoholic elder brother, a Vietnam vet with purple hearts.
Adam L (ag) wrote: This is one of the best movies ever! That is something that I never take lightly. Season Hubley gives a great performance as princess but the real star of the movie is Wings Hauser. I owe this man and his son a dinner on me for their great performances but Wings holds the title as greatest psycho of the 80s!

George B (us) wrote: A beautiful film. Honest without being self-indulgent, full of longing without being sappy, it'll leave your imagination whirling at the end. 4.5/5 because some of the acting could have been better, but that didn't stop this from being a great film.
