Steve R (jp) wrote: Hilariously bad. It fails on every level - script, acting, special effects. There a quite a few "so bad it's good" moments that cause a good chuckle. If you want to know more, read Craig Hart's cracking review here on Flixster.

Ichi is back at pulling his tricks at gambling again and we can see him being the lady's man once more. And yes, he turned down the lady for the nth time. LOL. But what's cool about this film is for the first time, Ichi got a partner for time being, a samurai who loves chess so much. It's good to see them both together, as fans we are used to seeing Ichi taking his challenges alone but now , he's got help. And as a predictable plot, both of them will be enemies. That's just sad, would have love to see them continue their travels together.

Andrew D (ca) wrote: About as '80s fantastical as you can get with action films, beyond Chuck Norris or Clint Eastwood.Bronson is a badass with a heart for the ladies, and moral to boot.Big explosions, bad stunt men-to-actor ratio, it's like the A-Team on a big screen without the obvious.A fun movie to watch that is over before it begins. Ah the '80s, how I love thee.

Jonathan M (fr) wrote: If the special effects and the suspense are there, the rhythm of the movie is just too slow. Many of those scenes and characters should have been cut off entirely . Now i do understand why it was groudbreaking in 1977 and why it is considered a classic , i just felt like the entire movie should have been shorter

Griffin M (au) wrote: It's weird that this movie can be both very silly and sort of disturbing at times. Nonetheless it is thoroughly entertaining.

Jonathan G (ca) wrote: Strong acting performances. Intelligent and dramatic script. A great study of mistakes and how honor and valor is still possible. Meg Ryan was a bit annoying outside of her standard romantic comedy. 7.75 / 10
