The relationships between characters are well defined, the characters themselves are appropriated to their appropriate box of stereotype. I appreciated the dark humor and found myself the only one in the theater snickering a few times. I would say everybody's performances were good, obviously Johnny Sequoia is loaded with talent and a richness beyond her years, but even with the level of talent and quality in performances the characters were difficult to care about. The only one I truly felt came off remotely likeable was Madison, Natalie Imbruglia who played the sales girl at the jewlry store. Visually Among Ravens was stunning, the camera makes you feel like you are there. I understood the metaphors and symbolism but wished the plot points had translated into an actual story with a problem and solution. The film serves up plenty of problems, and would make those who relate to the eccentric cast of characters reflect upon the authenticity of their lives, but does not provide hope. Which I feel was the point intended. Instead it leaves you feeling like you are recovering from having the wind knocked out of you by falling out of tree, and trying to get up only realizing you sprained your ankle, BAD. At the same time, I love it because it's a rebellion, a non traditional pussy slice of life, and if you can find humor in everyone's misery, light a blunt and enjoy the show.

Norm d (fr) wrote: Woody's an acquired taste, this easier than some others. Cute, entertaining, lean, & beautiful in Spain - cast & scenery! And he's on location! Notice how 'becca Hall sounds as though she's doing an impression of Woody in some of her speeches, no doubt unintentional but just from being around him! There're 2 Javiers on this pic, one behind the lens doing a nice job capturing the ambiance.

Liam M (ca) wrote: 3.0/10Batman Forever shot the franchise in the stomach, but did not finish it off. A semi-decent performance by Jim Carey as the Riddler provided enough to keep a person from leaving, but the movie as a whole is a worthless pile of garbage that is as painful to your life as being stabbed in the side. A waste of time you will never get back.

Ken S (de) wrote: "Roar" is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. Essentially Tippi Hedren and her husband at the time Noah Marshall made this movie about a guy who lives with big cats and he is out of the house when his family come to visit and get chased by lions and tigers. To make this film ,they used totally untrained animals...and that resulted in the film not only crediting the animals as co-writers and directors (because they did whatever the hell they want), but it also lead to the most ironic element of any film - it boasts that absolutely no animals were harmed in the making of the movie, yet 70 cast and crew members got injured, some fairly severely. The movie is a rambling crazy mess because, again, untrained animals ran the show. It's not really surprising to learn that Hedren and Marshal divorced not long after the movie was completed...when you consider that Hedren's daughter (Melanie Griffith) had her face mauled by a lion. Hell Hedren had to have plastic surgery due to a mauling on set. And the Cinematographer had his scalp ripped off (and lived!). This is a totally wackadoo premise made by mad people that value animal lives above human lives. I'm not saying animal lives are less valuable really, but when you are risking people's lives and trying to spread a message that these cats are essentially harmless...you have clear mental problems. Kind of worth checking out just for the madness of it all.

Kurt M (jp) wrote: One of the best martial arts films of the 1970's, this film was written by Bruce Lee, Stirling Siliphant, and James Coburn, and features David Carradine in multiple roles. The only zen sword-and-sorcery film!

Joseph Nephi C (br) wrote: A quotable, relatable, hilarious classic that demands to be viewed time and time again.
