Justice Be Damned
It’s 1860 and a U.S. Marshal is escorting his prisoner, Thomas Redding, to trial for the killing of two women. They wind up in a town that no one ever knew of with ghostly occurrences. The avenging Greek Goddess Nemesis tells the Marshal that here everyone is treated equally. The Marshal kills the ghost of a man whom he killed years earlier several times and Redding becomes the victim of the spirits of the women he killed, only to be brought back by Nemesis. The Marshal uses his wits to be rid of all ghosts. Nemesis appears as a hideous human/reptilian creature about to kill the Marshal. Darlene reappears and stops Nemesis citing she was created for the retribution of humans and not her own. With that, the women disappear. In Yuma, Redding is found guilty at trial but punishment had already been served by Maxine and Darlene and Redding is released. In a flash, Redding is transported back to the Town of Justice by Nemesis and now faces revenge by all the men he killed.

To begin with, the title sequence is unimpressive and there's not a lot of build up towards our protagonist before the bland title appears. As for the rest of the movies, I suppose it is a mild pleasure to see ninjas in an actual action movie, but the combat scenes tend to be hit-or-miss and the best action doesn't really come around until the end. The characters don't really do much for me. The main protagonist, Joe, doesn't say anything in his defense when he needs to, and while he may be confident he usually doesn't impress much. The lead female is a rather shallow and airheaded personality who does little but get herself and Joe into trouble, and in the beginning she doesn't seem to realize or care that anyone's saved her life. The best character by far is Jackson just because of how he develops into a real friend. In general the movie has its good moments and I'm convinced that the makers of this movie tried to make a good or at least decent action movie, but for the most part it fails to impress.

But the story and family aspect are both actually decent, and the message behind it is great! The direction is awful. Dennis Dugan is a majority stinker director.
