Kevin R (gb) wrote: Sushi is free but the girl is not.The story begins six years after a heist went terribly wrong where no one got paid, a few members of the gang die, one member goes to jail, and five members barely escape with their lives. Now, the jailed man is out of jail and the five survivors want to meet him for a dinner...of sorts..."How's Betty Ford?""Still a raging cunt!"Kern Saxton delivers Sushi Girl in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is fairly straightforward with an interesting ending. The movie was a bit bland and wasn't as stylish as similar pictures like Albino Alligator, The Usual Suspects, or Suicide Kings. The acting was above average and the cast includes Tony Todd, Danny Trejo, Noah Hathaway, James Duvall, Mark Hamill, and Stryker. "From the killing fields to the kill."This is a movie we came across while scrolling through Netflix and we decided to give it a shot since the plot sounded interesting. This is definitely a new age grindhouse picture. This felt like a poor man's Robert Rodriguez movie. The film definitely had potential but missed the style and flare of a Rodriguez or Tarantino picture. Overall, this is worth a viewing but doesn't stand out in the genre."Now your sock is all wet."Grade: C

Ben H (ru) wrote: You'd think a movie that promised an army of murderous skeletons couldn't be bad, right? You'd be horribly wrong. The acting was woeful and would have looked bad in your average soapie, the so-called special effects were average at best and how is it that a handful of skeletons can strike suddenly before their quarry have much chance to react, yet an entire army of them advance so slowly that their intended victims seemingly have all the time in the world to mount some sort of defence and then escape? Terrible.

Parker R (fr) wrote: Despite its sometimes dull script and being frustratingly anticlimatic, the exuberant performances from Elvis, and especially Ann-Margaret, along with some catchy musical numbers make this cheese-fest worth the while.

William James S (es) wrote: Highly entertaining and beautifully animated action adventure story about an old man, a young boy, a weird bird named Kevin and a talking dog named Doug. One of Disney/Pixars best, and that's saying a lot considering how many there are to choose from now!
