Charles G (de) wrote: I'm sorry Deniro but the movie the was being directed thru the course of this film would probably be better than this and that's saying a lot since *SPOILER ALERT* they shot a dog in the head

Mike T (jp) wrote: An extremely sexy film noir that unfortunately never achieves any degree of tension or suspense. It's passively entertaining, to be sure, but I felt like the story called for a higher degree of psychological involvement. Alison Lohman, although talented and gorgeous, feels oddly out of place to the extent that her performance distracts from the rest of the film at times. Colin Firth deserves special mention for a superb piece of acting, and Kevin Bacon isn't bad either.

Ben L (au) wrote: I kind of enjoy the first two Rush Hour movies, but for some reason I never felt compelled to watch any more. But when this one was airing on TV it was worth checking it out to see if they were able to recapture the magic. The third time around it definitely seems like Jackie Chan is losing some of his speed and agility. The fights are still good, but they don't have the same thrill to them and I don't even feel they have as much imagination in the props used and stunts attempted. The thing I really did enjoy in Rush Hour 3 was the way they connected back to the first film. It was a nice bit of nostalgia for people who like the franchise, and I liked revisiting characters I remembered from almost 10 years earlier. The contrasting personalities and cultural differences between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker still works for comedy, and that's the best part of these movies. I can totally understand why some people might not like it, but I usually get some good laughs. I think where this movie failed was in the plot. It was poorly constructed and didn't have a logical progression to it. I zoned out more than once, and would have a hard time telling you what happened (other than Max von Sydow being the least surprising villain reveal in cinematic history.) I had moments of enjoyment from Rush Hour 3 but it's not one I'll revisit, while the first two films I'd gladly watch again.

Steve G (it) wrote: okay, in spite of some awkward interaction with Liv Tyler, who's not exactly Hepburn. Sweet, in its own sick way. Would've been better if they tied more loose ends with Will Smith getting him a job, he lost because of him. Going back to the city. Ending in a wedding. But it was still a nice enough film. Gets a bonus for rising above the usual smut.... somewhat.

Deb S (us) wrote: The story revolves around two married suburbanites, Frank and Molly, who meet in a New York bookshop while Christmas shopping, and later encounter each other on a commuter train, first by accident, then (as their mutual attraction grows) by design. It is amazing how only a few meetings turns into obsession, and it is obviously when bad things happen to them both, and their marriages, that you wonder if they should be together. The movie examines the guilt-factor in the idea of an extra-marital fling and have us the viewers pondering, "Will they get together? Will they not? Can two happily married, reasonable upper middle class people be led by a chance encounter to abandon their goodhearted spouses and tear apart their children's home? I guess you have to watch it to find out or I can just put you out of your agony and tell you now lol.

Phillip S (kr) wrote: Not nearly as strong as its predecessor, and goes a bit off the rails towards the end, but can still be enjoyed for what it is.

Patryk C (us) wrote: What's great about this movie? Almost everything, starting with great performances, stunning cinematography, fast-paced action sequences, mysterious samurai warriors, undeniable Japanese aura, rapid ninjas, some romance, the subtle noir-like atmosphere. What's not so great? The plot, which is basically a labyrinth build up of a puzzling plot-subplots combination, making it overly complex, and when the viewer looses his focus for even a moment, he might have troubles with discovering what's going on. Nevertheless, Samurai Spy comes an art house production of the highest sort and a thrilling companion to other, more famous, titles in the category.

Dr F P (ca) wrote: Big Mommas House isn't exactly an exciting find. Perhaps the amount of times it's running on TV is testament to how bad it is but i don't know, i kinda like Sister Act. I got pretty fed up with it after a while and it sort of reminds me of Mrs. Doubtfire crossed with White Chicks but not really, what the hell am i going on about? I don't know if you'll notice but generally with movies that were so boring i have little to say about them i will instead pick out the minutest thing and blab about it for several lines until i feel in despair about the whole thing. If you think massively overweight people doing menial things is hilarious then this is the movie for you and you are not the person for me...

Brandon S (us) wrote: An abysmal, empty-headed rip-off of "Heathers". Here's a prime example of a movie in denial. A movie that can't even accept that it's a rip-off. Stupid, clich (C) gags and a cast of uninteresting characters. Predictable and unfunny.

Nick C (ag) wrote: wasnt what i was expecting, and the ending was comically terrible with an extremely awful one liner that any person would probably feel embarrassed to say.

Laura R (us) wrote: I quite liked this film, even though its quite trashy and doesn't have much of a plot. Even though I did find that it was interesting and informative how one young woman gets attached to her room mate and is willing to kill the roommates friends to become "best friends" with the person of their affection. They have that accurate as how the "psycho manifests their ways to psychotic, personality disorder. On that I will give them a 6 out of 10 star rating.

Aaron N (au) wrote: One of the best musical dramas I've ever seen, hands down. If you weren't affected or provoked by this films content and message at least in the slightest, you should take a brief moment to make sure you're still clinically alive.
