Roxanne R (us) wrote: First shocker- this is a TRUE STORY! Second shocker, I was unaware that the corruption in South Korea is so pervasive that practically everyone from teachers, to detectives, to even judges are bought. Prepare yourselves to see the unthinkable and heart wrenching abuse perpetrated by principals and teachers to deaf and mute children in a South Korea school. As Maggie Lee from the Hollywood Reporter said: "Although the film ultimately achieves its function to expose deep-rooted and far-reaching social injustice, its visceral representation of harrowing and morally repugnant scenes remains unnerving and questionable." I know some human beings can be callous, mean, evil but the staff and relatives of the men involved in the sexual and physical abuse were monsters. This is the type of film that leaves you hopeless, sad, depressed and made me be so thankful that I am an adult without any impediments; that I can speak and protect myself, that I can stand for justice. Some viewers will feel like vigilantes, thinking an eye for an eye is the ONLY way to put an end to this. I AM one of those viewers and after you watch this motion picture then you will understand my words. Recommended!

Ethan F (de) wrote: I brought my whole family to this movie in its premiere week and we all hysterically laughed throughout the entire thing. My brother and I are still quoting many of the best lines (amazing cameos from various random New York improvisers and actors). I was even touched by the ending, which is a truly rare feat for any comedy made these days. Solid acting, writing, directing, and cinematography -- really, a well produced film all around, with a very original angle. My only complaint is that it's not currently distributed in every single theater in the US... would love all my friends around the country to see this thing. Can't wait to see more from these guys!!!

Ted W (ca) wrote: Well, I've wrapped up this series and I must say it is one of the most uniform horror series made in the past 30 years. The story concept is simple, but I'm always interested and there is a moderate amount of suspense. This featured some really grisly scenes (which one would expect) and I don't think I'm going to try acupuncture soon. The twist ending was a hoot.

Tristan G (jp) wrote: The worst movie ever made. It's about three kids who are taken under the wing of some super sexy macho dude whose accent keeps changing. They are turned into ninjas or something. It's bad. Don't see it. watch three ninjas instead.

Jon C (gb) wrote: Justly famous dark mysteryThis justly famous film by Alan Pakula (The Parallax View, Sophie's Choice, All the President's men) ostensibly starring a very young Donald Sutherland as a small town cop turned private investigator who searches for a missing friend in big bad NYC would have qualified as a well-made but standard hard-boiled mystery if it were not for the stellar performance of Jane Fonda as the call girl whose help he enlists for his search, which lifts it into the category of a classic: rarely in film has a performance let us know a character so thoroughly. Advisory: drug use and language, scary but not too graphic violence, sex rather restrained by current standards. The Warner Home Video standard DVD is of good quality, but this film really should be remastered and put on Blu-Ray.
