Stupid plot, lame "acting", average fighting and pathetic attempts of trying to make this something more than a awful movie. Waste of money, if would have been better if they sent it to hungry children in Argentina.

(jp) wrote: The dancing and singing is excellent. The plot is not too great, however. It drags on and goes on unecassary tangent. Worth watching, though definetley not Rodgers and Hammerstien's best work.
(nl) wrote: A straightforward war-time movie about Motor Torpedo Boats based in the Phillipines at the start of WW2 is given the John Ford treatment and becomes something more. The film is patriotic to be sure but the characters are not cliched and there is a real attempt for authenticity. There are some great visual touches as well. Robert Montgomery and John Wayne are both solid in the main roles and Donna Reed is effective as a dedicated nurse. Well worth a look.
