Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren were astonishing as the married filmmaking duo dealing with their relationship becoming rocky during the difficult process of making the film 'Psycho'! All performances are solid. The film puts you under its spell and its fascinating to see the struggles and negativity Hitchcock had to face in order to make a film he believed in and was passionate about. To see his private life behind the scenes and his relationship with his supporting wife Alma was intrigiung. The film was also hilarious! I found myself laughing and smiling more than anything, but there are dark, eerie moments when the infamous Ed Gein story is channeled in to the film! I only wish James D'Arcy as Anthony Perkins who played Norman Bates had a bigger role!He was dead-on as Perkins!!! Also, I feel the film deserved to be much longer as I frowned when the end credits appeared!

I thought it was very well done, and to be honest, Elizabeth Reaser caught my attention in the movie Stay.. absolutely stunning performance here (as well as in Stay).. Now, if only the movie could make someone fall in love with ME.. then it would get that 5th star.

Timothy S (es) wrote: It's not unusual for good movies to take the viewer on a roller coaster ride of emotion. "Three Fugitives" is by no means a good movie, but thematically, it's all over the map and tries for laughs and pathos, sometimes at the same time. It's an uneasy mix and the end result is that neither the drama or comedy work well enough to cover up the nauseous feeling in the pit of your stomach that comes from the jolting shifts in tone. Take, for instance, the scene in which Martin Short watches his daughter in the orphanage through the fence once she is taken from him. It's meant to tug at the heartstrings, until the sprinkler water hits him square in the face. It's jarring and completely unnecessary, but it does sum up the basic problem of the film.Unusual casting match-ups were a sign of the times in the 1980's, and teaming Short up with a gruffer-than-normal Nick Nolte must have sounded golden on paper. It comes across as less successful on the screen. The film also suffers from a severe logic deficiency. While I know this is essentially a comedy, the cops in the picture are unbelievably stupid, even more inept at their job than Short is at robbing banks. It's insulting after a while, as is the terrible score by David McHugh. The musical score is not something I normally notice in a film, unless it's this bad."Three Fugitives" is a mess of a movie with a good heart. It's just misplaced most of the time, and the audience suffers the consequences.

Ian P (br) wrote: A romance movie base from the written novel of popular romance novelist Nicholas Sparks - his first novel to movie adaptation. This is a story of love lost and found. But this is also a story of grieve, letting go and recovering from lost. It may be overly dramatic and tearjerker but the story is really touching that it requires to do so. It has nice settings just like the other Sparks movies. Message in a Bottle has a simple twist romance story but it is a movie that make you think about what if, assuming and if only. Lastly, it shares that loss is a part of our journey in life yet it should lead us to be grateful of the love that we had. Robin Wright and Kevin Costner might lack romantic chemistry on the eyes of other audiences yet they deliver decent acting to the film.
