Wesley W (br) wrote: A really generic and predictably told movie with a plot that has little effect and has a hammy message. This Adam Sandler movie is better than most of his stupid schlock nowadays, but this is still in my opinion, another unfunny attempt at comedy from him. Throughout this throwaway Disney cash grab, I couldn't find any good reason to care about any of the characters or about anything happening on screen and those faults have to do with the writing and directing. Everything here is told by cliches and you can tell exactly what is gonna happen and Adam Shankman doesn't direct this film with any real passion or thought. I did not laugh once and every attempt at humor ended on a flat note. The acting from the cast is forgettable and bland. Adam Sandler is his usual boring self, Teresa Palmer was terrible and every time she appeared on screen I wanted her to leave right away and when she would keep coming back like all those god awful spoof movies, I got really aggravated. Guy Pearce who I love in Memento, is underused here and gives a bland performance, but it might not be his fault because of the bland writing and directing. The only positives with this in my book, are that I thought Jonathan Pryce tried at the beginning of the film, the guinea pig Bugsy was cute, and thats it. If you want to watch a much better live-action Disney movie, watch Mary Poppins and don't waste your time with this.

Jayakrishnan R (it) wrote: 89%Watched this on 21/9/14Now this is a film that lives up to it's reputation! This is Richard Attenborough's dream and hardships which he carried with himself for 20 years. Gandhi is just an epic without all those fighting as you see in the films of the genre. I can't imagine how the director was actually able to procure such massive number of people and make them act in his desired manner. You can't picture a man's entire life into a film, but still this film follows all the important aspects and ideals of Gandhi's life. As any Indian, I also knew clearly well about what Gandhi did to help India gain it's independence, but we never knew much about what happened to him post the freedom was obtained, he was of course assassinated. What really surprised me was the story of the film towards the last 30 minutes which told of his life post the independence. Those incidents that happen during that time time are just unimaginably disturbing. Ben Kingsley's performance is outstanding and people would remember his mannerisms as Gandhi when they speak about the man itself, there by affixing himself as Gandhi in the minds of all those who have seen the film.

RiP M (nl) wrote: Like a long saxophone riff at a jazz club that never seems to end until the player's come off his high. Glorious score by Terence Blanchard, though.

Karsh D (it) wrote: Struggling comic actor who is trying to make more serious films so can be taken more seriously by the public and critics. Desperately dull at times

Brett H (jp) wrote: Holy crap, what a ridiculous action movie that has great stunts but far too much John Woo-isms. The excessive slow-mo, random insertion of doves, and the never-ending shower of sparks are so over-the-top you cringe more than cheer. Still, it was always intended to be a big, dumb action movie and the plot is surprisingly cool, but come on, a little realism wouldn't hurt.
